FM radio issue

I've had a sony deck on my car for about 3 years and never had a problem. Just yesterday I was driving on (god forbidden) Kingsway and my FM reception went bezerk. Now I'm getting lots of static on all the FM stations, some worse than others.

I can hear some songs on some stations with intermittent static in between. The weird thing is that AM reception is completely fine. I've played with the antenna and checked the wiring to it with no issues, any ideas?

That is strange an antenna problem is usually the other way around. Am doesn't work but FM does... It's most likely the head unit.

What kind of car is it? It may have an amplified antenna but the amplified part is not amplifying anymore.

Bring it in and we'll check it out if you are in the Coquitlam area.

You got yourself a defective tuner in your headunit.
If it was an amplified ant and it was faulty it would affect am more then fm and am wouldn't work at all while fm would just get a little static.

We have a spare Sony deck to ensure that it is indeed a deck issue.
