Trouble removing Alpine Stereo

Hey, I have an Alpine CDE-9881 in my Acura Integra (97), and I'm trying to pull our my stereo to install an iPod cable. I went back to Soundworks and got the keys for it, but I slot them in, and I have no idea how to get the stereo out. There are notches on both keys, but I kinda use it to hook onto the stereo, it pulls out about .5 cm, then stops, and there is no way for me to get it out further.

Anybody have any insight into this? Am I just being an idiot...?

The manual doesn't give you any further instructions. It says you put in your keys and pull it out... Do I have to remove the bottom bit to unhook something under it...?

thanks!

I'm too cheap to pay; I don't know if they'll do it free of charge, because I had this thing installed a few years ago.

yeah, i would check if they used any brackets/bolts in the back of the unit to bolt it up to the dash/firewall. Else, see if you can take out part of the center console to get to the deck and push it out from the back.

integras have a bolt and bracket holding the radio down from manufacture in the rear
given who ever installed the radio did it the oem way, then it'll be held down by that same bolt in the back.
