sr swap prob

I just finished up a swap from one 240 to another. Car1 motor ran fine before swap over. Now with motor in Car2 we are having problems getting it to rev past 2500 rpm. No codes. I am leaning towards a problem within the extended MAF wires.

Not to familiar with Nissans . I deal with Toyota's Just did a x90 1j swap into my 92 Supra

What is it doing before 2500rpm and what is it doing at and after 2500 rpm and what do you have to do to get it past 2500 rpm? More details would be nice.

well it was in "safe" mode and I rewires the MAF wires and it started to free rev. It was running pig rich and breaking up bad. I swapped in a know good ka24e maf rewired for the SR. No change. I am leaning towards a torn coupler. The car sat for a year outside after being an Arizona car so I am sure the cheap ass ebay couplers are shot.have a set of Blitz ones laying around and am going to swap them over.

2500rpm is a sign of MAF issue.

It's either the wiring or the maf itself, or if all else fails, ecu.

Recheck your wiring, as it seems as that is the only thing changed from one car or the other.

For some odd reason it's extremely rare for a Nissan to show codes unless you actually pull it via a consult scanner. you can yank off the o2 connection, maf, etc, and it won't show a code.

Recheck your charge pipes as stated above. Eliminate all possibilities before proceeding. But, by the sound of the car not revving beyond 2500rpm, that is a sign of a maf issue.

Sorry, didn't proof-read what I wrote.

It won't show a CEL.

I've never tried pulling codes without some sort of scan tool.

Hopefully it was something minor which won't cost you much money.

Are you on Supramania? I've got a 92 MA70 as well. It's teal with a sunroof.

My Consult port isn't wired up so I have to check the ECU manually, lol.

Glad you got it worked out though.

A KA24 MAF will not work properly with a SR20DET.
