If you're worried about it looking ugly you can put it together with no gaps and you'll just lose a corner when someone goes to steal it.
I'm sure the reflective bit is a huge factor (easier to pick N's out at night and check to see if they've had any drinks) and the fact that if they left it up to the general public to use whatever signs they wanted they'd have all sorts of altered, barely visible ones (people already mod the approved ones like cutting the black portion out with a small border and just use that)

and this was why i just printed out the PDF file in black and white, if i did get pulled over they can't say anything because its an "approved" N sign and if its at night obviously i cannot to get a real one
and with that its not reflective at night so your less visible

Just wondering
If you leave your N on and let a person with a class 5 drive your vehicle and they get pulled over will they get a ticket or get in any trouble?
Sorry for the quick question but id rather not make a thread over this.

Nope.

A person with a class 5 can drive with an N on because it isn't part of his restrictions that he cannot.

People will take a chunk ocassionaly, but the trophy factor (or whatever idiocy you want to call it) is severly diminished if they have to work to take 35 or 40 pieces of magnet off the back of your car. It worked great when I had my N (people used to steal N's off of cars in the traffic jam at the 4-way stop just leaving my school). Plus: The entire approved sign is there, never got any grief from officers (and drove through roadblocks a few times a week), plus it wont fall off as easily because they follow weird contours better (they dont turn rigid/lose their curve when they get cold in the winter)
didnt stop mine from being taken.
i had it in 10 pieces but i leave silver city and what do u know its gone

guy must have had a smile going the whole time he was taking it off

why do people steal N's in the first place... you can just grab one from any ICBC by showing your DL.... and if they don't have the N license... what's the point of stealing one?

Actually, you don't even have to show your DL. I once went up there and asked for 3 N signs. And I got 3 N magnets without showing my DL. They gave me strange looks though.

Some might ask. It really depends on the location + staff.
