Snow is almost dying down in North Van. Let's hope it stays that way.

why couldn't they just build subway?
I started to take transit since Sept, in 3 months, skytrain was delayed at least 5 times for more than 15 min, and twice completely shutdown, like today on canada line at marine dr.

fcking over priced garbage

just a note. theres no such thing as all season. its just 3 seasons. the other one is ALL SNOW.

don't be lulled into a false sense of security. your all seasons will get you killed. drive SLOW.

if you have all snows on, good for you. That doesnt mean you get to be a dick on the road and drive like you're Ken Block.

Q. Are "all weather" tires winter tires?

A. The all weather tire is another designation that’s thrown around especially by a couple of brand names. It’s a tire that’s just soft enough or just pliable enough to qualify as a winter tire that’s in the compound of the tread blocks, but designed to be used all year long, more like an all season. The problem is that it’s not perfect at either thing. It’s still too hard to be fully optimized as a winter tire. You’re better off getting a pure winter tire.
This is pretty much bang on. Noikan was the first "all weather" tire. They have a dual compound tire on their asymetrical tread. Inside gets the softer rubber and outside gets the harder blockier all season rubber. Softer rubber is better when it is cold, and the harder blockier rubber makes the tire better on the highway, so they claim.

The downside to this is that these tires cost an arm and a leg since Kal Tire is the only place that sells the Noikans in Canada. And they wear out fast because of the softer compound.

Put it this way, I wouldn't trust less than 50% tread in the snow.

But this tire is meant for people who are too lazy or don't have storage for a set of dedicated snow tires.

Spotted an accident today with an ML and a pretty nice WRX going down Willingdon. Not sure if they had snow tires. Even with AWD, doesn't mean you'll have great traction. Drive slow and keep a good amount of distance with the car in front and behind you.

But the rain seems like it is freezing rain so it is actually worse than snowing. I just wish it would be pouring rain so it would wash down all the snow.

To the douchebag RS'er driving whats looks like a '03 silver civic (with your rs sticker on your rear window) going 70~ around pentiction and 5th today. dont be a fucking idiot and drive so fast in these weather conditions. going that fast in the neighborhood streets and slamming the brakes at a stop sign nearly smoking a lady with her young kid crossing the street. have some brains man.
