How long for a summons? I disputed a ticket back in April for speeding and another offence because i simply couldnt afford it at the time (disputed fine) Its like almost new years and still didnt get a summons lol it may have something to do with me being an N driver tho...i feel like someone over there felt like if they sent it to soon i would lose my license because of 3 points? This is just my theory but it really makes no sense Thank you in advance |
You are correct, it wouldn't matter when they sent the notice of dispute to you. If the ticket is under dispute, you don't get points until you pay or are found guilty of the offence(s). I suggest that you contact the Violation Ticket Center and inquire: 877 661-8026 |
12-18 months is probably normal for court date |
they deduct 2 points a year am i correct? icbc that is? im not really sure when these points reduce, the police officer just told me its every year but im assuming it also goes by ur birthday and not by the beginning of the year reason i ask is because i cant really seem to find the information on the icbc site regarding this thank you for the kind responses |
It has been almost 2 years since one of my tickets court date I'd suggest going for ur class 5 asap Posted via RS Mobile |
i believe they deduct 3 points on your birthday, and any extra points you pay a premium on. |
They don't "deduct" points. This info was from the last time I looked it up, which was over 3 years ago: ICBC calculates your penalty based on the period between (a) 5 months before your birthday in the current year and (b) 5 months before your birthday next year. If you accumulate more than 3 points during that period, then you will need to pay a premium. |
