dont let the number fool you, 900 is newer than the 1000mk3, and thus (didnt look into the specs) probably allow usb input. the mk3 has an sdcard input but its only for recording and storing of cues. your main music source is still off the cds, or mp3 cds. midi controllers are more basic but more open to different media inputs.
going from vdj to actual equipment now that i got more room meant learning from sq 1 again...

the 900s have a slip mode which is pretty dope for scratching. it also has a beat loop feature that helps looping. its like the ones in vdj where u can split it from 16 8 4 2 1 1/2 etc. better display and usb support that means u can put all your songs on a usb and link them. its basiclly a refurbished 1000 mk3 with a few more features and tweaks
what do you guys think of the cdj 400? is it any good?
yeah dude it's not any worse than a 800markII, it even has USB capabilities. but there are somethings the 400 cant do that the 800 can, and i'm not sure what that is. i think 800's better for scratching and shit like that? lol. not sure.
if you're just starting and doing EDM, 400's absolutely fine.
i got to play with three 2000's recently, lol that shit is awesome. the display (and select options), the accuracy. but mind you im comparing it to an 800, i never played with 1000's that much.
^ Exactly what Manic said, DJM600 was released around 1999 and there is a bunch of better mixers for less money.
If anyone is looking for an affordable mixer with all the bells and whistlers i really recommend the Behringer DDM4000. Behringer has a bad name but honestly this mixer is awesome, it has lots of effects, sound quality is great and really cheap for what u get. Although build quality imo does suffer a bit but still really good if u dont abuse it too much. Its been 6 months and not a single problem!
hey guys i have 0 knowledge on djing but i would like to try some,
just mixing songs/trance/house what software is easy to use for someone who knows nothing.
also where is a good place to download/get song titles for trance/house music?
^ Try www.virtualdj.com they have a 30day free trial and give u the full program to play around with.
As for music there is tons of sources, I usually check Youtube for ppl posting their favorites, or top 100 charts, dj forums, or even threads here in on RS. Then just zippyshare those songs or buy them on beatport.
