Looks like it was just outside of Norfolk in Virginia rather than San Diego. Crazy no one died. Kudos to the pilots for ejecting at the last second to ensure the wouldn't hit a school.

Wasn't it designed as a troop carrier for invasions? I'd like to see it fly in heavy seas, a 5m wave would take it out quickly. Good thing it's always calm in the open ocean....

^ combat nowadays is fought in BVR mostly, dogfights a pretty rare . then again how long has it been since air wars were fought between comparable fighters
