Woah, does anyone know the history to why suddenly hyundai and kia are starting to look so good? Recent migration of car designers?

Looks good, and shares the same powertrain from the Sonata turbo version. The previous-gen Optima looks like shit lol. The designer of this gen of Optima/K5 also worked on the Audi TT.

fucking Honda designers probably left and went to KIA/Hyundai.... Honda hired ex-Toyota designers (gay new civic spyshots) and Toyota hired KIA's ex-designers(prius etc). One big ass corporate circle jerk. Then in 10 years its back to Toyota to throw out nice looking cars.

According to the wiki, the K5/Optima will be sharing engines with the current Hyundai Sonata. Dunno about the chassis though.

A lot of Japanese concept designs are great too, look at the concept AE86! it's just their marketing dept that blows shit up demanding boring designs rather than unique sporty style.

kia copies every other design.. the rear looks like the new lexus is, and the front has the headlights of the newer civics.
