ArkClothing / Asos

Just wondering your experiences with both of these online clothing retailers.

And what are your experiences with dealing with duties/taxes upon arrival

thanks

I just received my order from Ark today, no duties/taxes upon arrival. My friend who had ordered off Asos before had to pay customs. Hope this helps!

I've purchased a couple things from ASOS before.
You usually don't have to pay any duties or customs fees if you choose the standard $6 and the total value of the items are <$100. If you choose the express, they ship it via DHL and those guys make you pay customs. I've been hit with $35 to pay before receiving my package.

Ask them to mark as a "gift", usually works for no taxes/ duties. Hope this helps!

Correct. Express you will pay customs because it's via DHL and I swear DHL taxes everything no matter what the value is. The other method takes too long, I've waiting up to 4 weeks to receive my items because it's going through Canadapost.

^ that's when u should go and support ur local retailers lol. Prob if ur lucky, u can get the same product for a lower price locally if it goes on sale (unless they dunt sell it locally).

just curious.. i ordered from Asos

if im not home the day my package arrives ( delivered by Canada post )

will Asos contract me and give me a reference number for my package to pick up from Canada Post?

or will Canada Post leave my package on my doorsteps?

thanks

^ When you're not home, Canada Post usually leaves a slip in front of the door with information regarding what time they tried to deliver it and where you're able to pick it up.
When purchasing things from ASOS, I usually find the packages left in my mailbox.
