planning to drive to big white ski resort....

so im planning on driving down to big white ski resort this weekend. its my first time driving there so i do not know what to expect. anyone here have experience driving up there and can give advice/suggestions? i drive an awd VW Phaeton if anyone is wondering if my car can survive snow but will i still need tire chains or are the roads consistently plowed?
are there also gas stations along the way or do i have to hoarde a cooler of gasoline?

bring a shovel
bring newspaper to put under ur wheels when you're stuck.
gloves, extra emergency clothing (just in case you are stuck in the snow for hours)
you should be good.

The last time I drove there, I experienced very dense fog once I got to the merritt area as well, so be prepared for that. I could not see the road at all and had to rely on the lines drawn on the side of the road to make sure I'm following the lanes.

Good advice.

I wouldnt go without Chains.
Drove there about 3 times now.
The 3rd time was last time I will ever drive there again.

The first 2 times, it wasnt too bad.
The 3rd time, we hit really bad snow on the road.
Very difficult to see and dense snow falling.
The Pathfinder barely made it back.

Drive slow, Dont let other rush you.
Bring a little extra food and water as well.
You never know when you may have to pull over or get stuck somewhere.

80%-90% of the roads were pretty clear about 2-3weeks ago. There were spots where it was just a blanket of snow/ice, aswell as foggy areas. But yeah, if you have a set of snows, you should be fine. Just be aware of your surroundings
