Everyone needs to be held accountable, and there DOES need to be a route to appeal any conviction even if it's not maliciously wrongful. People, and machinery make mistakes after all.

But it does make me sick when people who are legitimately guilty get off because of those mistakes.

Get a reputable lawyer if you wish to get out of the mess you got yourself into. Regardless of what you decide to do, learn from this and never DUI again. I know what I'm about to say is rude, but you could DUI and kill yourself and nobody would care. At the same time, you're putting other people's lives at stake.

I personally think the new law is great. It effectively prevents people from drinking and driving. At the very least, most of the younger people I know have stopped their irresponsible DUI act. However, the general public still find the new law contradictory when we see some police officers that DUIed, causing casualties, make the headline on the news.
