All You Can Eat Sushi under $15

Are there any All You Can Eat Sushi restaurants under $15 in the lower mainland
If so, Where, when, how much>?

noTirl 02-06-2011 04:31 PM

most places for lunch and late night are under 15 pre tax+tip
tomokazu - west broadway
kingsway sushi - kingsway+boundary
richmond sushi - capstan way
shabusen? - granville or burrard
fish on rice - wbroadway or kingsway

CRS 02-06-2011 05:22 PM

Late night:
BC Sushi - Broadway and Arbutus
Ninkazu - by Aberdeen (in fact, right between Aberdeen and Parker Place)

I don't think that Shabusen has late night so you might be hooped on that one. It is something like $23/person for dinner but $13/person for lunch.

As for Fish on rice, they have a happy hour between 4:30-6PM and it is $14/person. For lunch is is $12/person and I don't think they have a late night either.

Lunch / Happy Hour / Late night: Yes...there's lots out there.

But as far as under $15 for dinner goes... I don't think there's any.

happy sushi
westminster near no. 3 road.
richmond

Is Happy Sushi in Richmond related to the one in Vancouver on Victoria drive?

But once again, < $15 would only be available if you're doing lunch at Happy Sushi...

They are, same owner or ownership group.

RevRav 02-07-2011 04:53 PM

How much are their dinners? Couldn't seem to find a website on them.... some say ~$13.99 for lunch

ilvtofu 02-07-2011 07:34 PM

I highly recommend matsuyama if you're planning to go with a few friends for late night, works out to still be around $15 (sub 20 for sure) and I personally like their food a lot better than any late night AYCE place I've been to. Ninkazu also has ayce hotpot for $3 extra IIRC so if that sounds interesting give that a try. There is sui sha ya which and another place at metro by chq/over drive forgot the name, they are all mediocre...

+1 for Fish on Rice!

Less than $15 for lunch and it includes free pop and refills :D

Ninkazu gets my vote, as CRS mentioned it's right in between Parker Place and Aberdeen. In the same square where Spring Tea is located.

It's $16 with tax and tip for late night. Food is definitely amazing, always hits the spot.

Servers don't always seem very happy, but I don't blame them, they're always really busy.

And even one time I ordered way too much, I offered to pay for the food I wasted, but they told me not to worry about it, as it happens. Left them a huge tip at the end.

Nechako87 02-07-2011 07:50 PM

when does ninkazu's late night start? 09:30 pm?

Purely 02-07-2011 07:57 PM

Ebei for lunch/late night on grandville and 41st
Tokyo Ichiban for late night - across from Lansdowne

LiquidTurbo 02-07-2011 09:41 PM

I don't think there is a better AYCE than Ninkazu, or maybe Tomokazu. That being said, I still have a deep hatred for AYCE :D

ninkazu and tomokazu ftw! richmond sushi and kingsway sushi suckkkk!

VrrM604 02-08-2011 08:40 AM

i think robson sushi should be around that price during regular hours and a little bit more on the weekends

gloors 02-08-2011 10:12 AM

Just went tomokazu last night its 14.50 for late night. Not bad of a place but shitty as fucking servers. kingsway sushi is also 14.50 i think fast service too

InvisibleSoul 02-08-2011 10:28 AM

Unless prices have changed, Kingsway Sushi should be a little bit more expensive than Tomokazu.

d1 02-08-2011 12:02 PM

Went to ninkazu once and it was pretty horrible.

Tokyo Ichiban has been closed for half a year already, or close to it.

The drinks are the only things good about that place man. The food there is disgusting! I highly reccommend not going there. I remember my friend found some nasty thing similar to that nasty cheeto in his cone man. He also got bitched at for not tipping. You should stop going to that place.

And I usually go to tomokazu or toyama (at seymour street) for sushi.. and they're alright.

It really depends how you look at it. To some, the drinks might be an appealing / selling point. While to others... the pop and stuff basically just fill you up, and make you eat less of their sushi.

Yeah same.
I went there for lunch on a weekend. Maybe their late night menu is better? Seconding Matsuyama for good late night though, despite it not being AYCE.

Ikkaku 02-08-2011 09:00 PM

The 2 or 3 times I've been to tomokazu, I've had less that subpar service. Fuck, I'll be more blunt, we got no service AND we got attitude from the servers.

We ask the guy for some more tea and water, and he just ignores and keeps talking with his co-worker. I asked him again, and he tells me "just a minute" as he resumes his conversation. By then we ask another server, and yet after 10 minutes, still nothing. We were pissed off. We are not going back there.

However, Ninkazu service is a bit better. At least we get some service, despite needing some reminders, but at least we weren't blown off for a conversation WHILE working.
