Quick and cheap jean hemming

Recently bought a pair of R&R Floyd's and they are wayy too long for me. Does anyone know a place that will hem my jeans while I wait, and isn't too expensive with good service? I don't even want the flare, or the original seam, just need them to fit.
I don't mind paying 10-20 bucks. I'm looking for a place that will finish within 30 minutes.
Thanks!

try giving stitch international a call ....

http://www.yelp.ca/biz/stitch-international-burnaby

its by the washroom hallway by old navy i believe

LookHere_Sucka 02-07-2011 06:24 PM

Thanks, but I've read a lot of warnings about that place where people kept saying they either hem it too short or the stitching is terrible... Don't wanna ruin my rocks haha.

chin3se604 02-07-2011 06:45 PM

oo i rmb that the Levis store at metro.. had a little hemming kinda shop within their changing room lol.... you can try giving them a call or checking it out yourself ha

LookHere_Sucka 02-07-2011 07:27 PM

Thanks for the help chin3se, I will definitely check them out, but for now, I'm still looking for a definite place I can go to, with a definite price, and definite time. :)
I need to just get off the bus after school, drop em off, walk around for 30 minutes, and pick them up haha. I'm always on a busy schedule.

Not really racist! 02-07-2011 09:02 PM

10$ is hard when you want something quick and cheap..

Stitch International is between 16.XX - 17.XX

LookHere_Sucka 02-07-2011 09:39 PM

Well, if decent places are hard to find, I'll be willing to pay accordingly, depending on the service and quality of the stitching. I'll just be a cheap ass for now and just fold them in so they don't seem as long LOL.

There's a place at Oakridge downstairs next to Gap I always go to, and I think regular price hem is $8-10, but if you want it rush, you add $5?
Don't quote me on prices, haven't been back in a long time. But I'm positive a regular hem is around or under $10.

LookHere_Sucka 02-07-2011 10:58 PM

Might be too far, but thanks anyways. Looking more for a place that I can go to via skytrain, 135 bus, 134 bus, or the 130 bus. Also looking at places in the metrotown/crystal mall area. Lol, I'm kinda picky but those are the only places I can really go to.

I hear Oakridge Tailors is good. I think they do tailoring for Harry Rosen? Can't remember. Search up the older threads.

Try the little tailoring shop in station square across from yakko sushi. Haven't been there in a few years but he used to charge $8 and the quality was really good. I always just left my pants there overnight or for a few days, so not sure if he fits your 30min requirement. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who does that now. Without an additional charge at least.

i use them. they're pretty good. not the cheapest though.

Lolkai 02-07-2011 11:57 PM

I use the place by levi's at metro. They can do the euro-hem which is about 16 and they are able to keep the fabric from the hem. So if it fucks up I guess you can have them redo it for you??
I just got another pair of rocks to hem at a place my friend recommended. It's in metro by the bridal store and its $10. I'm picking them up tom so i'll tell you how it turns out!

kevin7352 02-08-2011 01:38 AM

In general, mall tailors are going to be much more expensive.
However if you're going to go to one at metro, then go to Robert. He works in the back of Levi's
Don't go to stiches. I've had bad experiences as well.
Personally, I take my jeans to Busy Bee on Fraser near Kingsway. Very cheap and good service

most of the time your gonna have to pay atleast 15$ for a decent job.i suggest going levis at metro or that stich place by old navy.if your gonna spend over 200 on jeans. might aswell spend at least 15-20 extra for a good hemmin job lol

daica-viet 02-08-2011 02:28 PM

i just went to the one at oakridge few days ago they charge u 17-18 for hem and also keep the original stich on the bottom

LookHere_Sucka 02-08-2011 03:40 PM

I don't really care about keeping the original hem because I'm not gonna resell them anytime soon.

LookHere_Sucka 02-13-2011 11:12 PM

Still looking for a place that can finish within 30-45 minutes. 1 hour is good too, I'll go on the weekends. Don't really want to leave overnight, the guy at Levi's said I would have to wait till Wednesday, when I asked him on sunday.

They messed up my true religions. Had them restitch it but still wasn't perfect.

my rocks turned out great from the place that's by the bridal store! Like I said above, it was only $10 dollars but its not euro-hem and you can pick it up on the day of.

jack3d 02-14-2011 02:44 PM

Go to the place across Shoppers drug mart at metrotown. Its called metropolis alterations, I've had 5 of my jeans done there, all turned out great.

the_rickster 02-14-2011 04:32 PM

sperles on davie is awesome for this. quick and inexpensive. bring the shoes you will wear them the most with, and let them know if the denim has been washed.

theevilslave 02-17-2011 04:44 PM

I go to this place across from superstore in metro. its cheap and they do a really good job (well they did for me, atleast).
i think they can get it done by an hour or so.
