Impark/Advance Parking has rights to tow?

Just wondering what the laws are for this?

Parked at the hospital and got a ticket from Advanced Parking (Private Company). I'm not planning to pay after reading that they are not from the city.

Just wondering if they can legally tow my car if they catch me again.

If you didn't buy a ticket and got caught, pay it.

that works too :D, but depending on the amount of the ticket, it may not be worth it.

Chronix 02-20-2011 05:04 PM

its $48 for the first 7 days then $80 after.

i usually switch plates every 6-9 months, not cause i want to switch plates but rather because im no longer driving the car and i went on monthly payments.

last time i switched plates i had about 10 tickets from bcit impark.

i wasn't worried bout being towed because its kinda hard to tow a car when theres about a inch between the lower control arm and the ground...

What does this have to do with anything? Private parking lots are just that: private property. You don't abide by their rules, they are legally entitled to ticket you, and/or remove you from their property. Doesn't matter where they're "from".

OP, you're lucky we can't fail you in this thread....

Because I work at the hospital where advance parking rent the parking lot

Soundy 02-21-2011 03:20 PM

^Which also has nothing to do with anything.

gars 02-21-2011 03:57 PM

haha, so you park their regularly? But you don't want to pay for the ticket and want to go back for seconds?

they dont care if they damage your stuff, its on there property not paying for the use of the space so they have the right to remove it not caring about damage

ninjatune 02-21-2011 06:39 PM

^Incorrect - they are not allowed to damage the vehicle, either on purpose or by neglect, when towing. Just like if somebody parks their car in your driveway, you're not allowed to take a big truck and ram it off your property...

You are allowed to park a Big Truck in it's way and box it in though.

your lower control arms won't stop it from getting towed. I've towed many a lowered vehicle. It's very easy to do without damage if you have the proper tools.

baggdis300 02-22-2011 12:38 PM

lol, the rim is 2" into the fender...

the car's weight is on the tires.

my car basically has no suspension when its aird out...

Edit* he can go-jack it up and then stick the lifting thing underneath??

Quicksilver 02-22-2011 03:36 PM

Yeah, that's kinda how ALL cars work...

MindBomber 02-25-2011 09:29 PM

FYI.. I have tickets from Impark that are several years old and I still park in their lots with no worry that I might be towed. It's simple, just call the number on the ticket and ask if your plate is on the tow list, if it is just pay $18 for a new plate and your safe for another few tickets.
