I find that the cheapest time to go is in September, towards the end of the Alaskan cruise season.

Is there a specific reason you're choosing Alaska though?

Alaska's a good choice. No airfare to get to the cruise terminal.
If you find a good deal, let me know, we're looking to go too.

^ If you wanna go this season you should book within the next few weeks, space is selling out fast and the cheaper sailings in May and September are always the first to sell out.

Also, the cruise sale ('wave') season is almost or is pretty much over; prices will start going up and booking extras will be going away.

just got an email from my TA at expediacruiseshipcenters, celebrity cruise round trip from vancouver with bonus $100 on board credit.

check out websites like
vacationstogo.com
crucon.com
cruises.com

best time to go for alaska is may or september.. it will be less thank 1k for those months..

i say take holland america or princess cruise.. when or if your cruise goes to glacier bay. a park ranger actually goes on board the cruise and speaks on the p/a system of the cruise narrating stuff as you cruise the glaciers

there's disney cruise that sails roundtrip from vancouver...

i will be going on september for alaska cruise.. that's after my 4 night bahamas cruise from miami and 7 days western caribbean on the oasis of the seas

Not a certified agent, but I do work for a cruise-specific travel agency.

Ya the new ships with their entertainment is pretty cool, RCI with Dreamworks, NCL with Nickelodeon.

seems we have more then one in here

I'm a certified agent in Vancouver myself. Cruises are addictive. I find customers who go always come back to book more cruises. Alaskan cruises are amazing as well and handy that many leave from Vancouver!

Actually there are several May and Sep dates for just Princess alone between SEA and YVR. There are a bunch more between SFO/LAX/SDO and YVR between 2 to 7 days.

A quick search in my system just came up with a few options between SEA and YVR for a few cruiselines. There's a handful more, but you get the idea...

1 day May 7 YVR to SEA
1 day May 6 YVR to SEA
1 day May 12 YVR to SEA
3 day May 12 YVR to YVR
1 day Sep 18 SEA to YVR
1 day May 14 YVR to SEA
1 day Sep 24 SEA to YVR

It's super last minute to be asking this question now, but I'm cruising to Alaska for 7 days on Sunday. Anyone know of any must eats or must do's in Alaska? I'll be going to:

Juneau
Skagway
Glacier Bay
Ketchikan

Thanks!

White Pass Rail in Skagway is a must-do.

The only cool thing is renting a electric cart (golf cart) and zip around Juneau. Go to the glacier site too. The walk out to the waterfall is nice. BRING BUG OFF.

Bring all your medicine. I was sea sick the whole trip, and more sea sick when I came back on land for a week.

Do the zipline in one of the ports. I think it was Glacier Bay.

White pass rail sounds pretty cool, zipline i've done in Whistler and Mexico already.

Golf carting around in Juneau sounds kinda cool..

Aside from these two things, is that pretty much the only must do's in Alaska? Me and my gf aren't too crazy about scenery stuff...

There's jeep tours in Ketchikan and Juneau. Dog sledding on glaciers. ATV riding.
