Just a quick update since I asked how long it took to process/recieve Notice of Assessment.
I e-filed on April 19th and got my cheque/notice in the mail today (14 business days)
My GF e-filed the same day and opted for direct deposit and also got money in her account today. I don't know if she got her notice in the mail yet though.

I e-filed mine on April 2 (Sat) and got my deposit 5 business days later on April 8th

She just checked her bank account online from work. Pretty sure her notice is sitting in her mailbox by now.
You also filed a lot earlier so I'm not surprised you got yours back sooner. I'm sure if someone files from now til the deadline, they're not going to get anything for 3-4 weeks.

Just filed. late bc I was out of Canada.. haha oops.
"Your net refund is . . . $ 4,626.51!"
I would advise if anyone hasn't used it, Netfile is GREAT. Step by step, very easy to do. Way better than going to stupid H&R block.

Way better than going to stupid H&R block. | If it's complicated (ie. self employed, tons of receipts), better to just hire a book keeper for a few hours to sort it out. I get my friend, who's a book keeper to do mine and it literally takes her 5 minutes - yes I'm lazy. I think the most she charged one of her clients was a couple hundred bucks and he had stacks of disorganized paperwork and was behind a few years.
H&R Block is the biggest ripoff since UPS brokerage fees.

^ Agreed, but most people just have a couple T4s and T5s to do... and too lazy to do it for themselves. If you have your own business, then that's a different story.
Of course its going to be more work being an EMPLOYER, than an employee. |

Weird? usually tuition will give you more refund no? Quote:

Quick question, why is it that when I don't enter anything for tuition my tax return is substantially higher than when I put in my tuition amount + months of full-time & part-time studies? (Difference is almost a $1000 dollars)
And since it says that you can use tuition credits from previous years for future income taxes, should I just not bother entering a tuition amount and use this year's amount for next year?
*More info* income is roughly $9000 whereas tuition is roughly $1500. | |
