MVA 186 (1)?

I got a failure to stop at a stop sign (I didnt do a full stop) at an intersection with a stale green light in my favour.

The section for that is MVA 186 a/b/c

On the ticket, he wrote 186(1) which doesnt seem to correlate with a "1"

I just wanted to know if this would be considered an error or not.

Stopping at intersections

186 Except when a peace officer directs otherwise, if there is a stop sign at an intersection, a driver of a vehicle must stop

(a) at the marked stop line, if any,

(b) before entering the marked crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, or

(c) when there is neither a marked crosswalk nor a stop line, before entering the intersection, at the point nearest the intersecting highway from which the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting highway.

Since there is no 186(1), I would expect the ICBC Ticket Unit to use their big CANCELLED stamp on the ticket.

Thank you for your reply skidmark

Since there is no such section, should I just pay it, or dispute it?

It's an intersection with a LIGHT, and the cop wrote you a ticket for failing to stop at a STOP SIGN? Well that is right there.

And the light was still green too??
