The Jeep that could. (Bullet Proof Badass Content Inside)

We always see videos of companies test firing at bullet proof glass on cars, but check out what happens when it happens in real life. This damn Jeep took 350 AK shots and a BLOODY RPG. I REPEAT: RPG and a BARRET 50 Cal with people inside.

On 24 April, 2010, this Jeep Grand Cherokee was used to transport Minerva Bautista, head of the Secretaria de Seguridad of Michoacan, Mexico. The office of the Secretaria de Seguridad is the equivalent of our Department of Public Safety. She survived the assassination attempt due to the level 5 armored vehicle she was traveling in. It received 350 impacts from AK-47, AR-15, G3, and .50 Barret. Doesn’t mention the name of the armored company that built the Jeep Cherokee, however government officials are praising how well the vehicle stood up during the attack.

Really? So the armored car designed to stop bullets had nothing to do with it huh? Wore her lucky panties and dodged 350 rounds and a RPG.

She's lucky she survive the attack. Armored car or not, 350 rounds and an RPG would kill you. The cars definitely helped but it's more about her luck. Understood?

Not level 5 protection. That's design spec. Explosives and rifle fire.

i dont think any car armor is designed to be able to stop a .50 cal, and no armor is designed to stop 350 rounds of anything. So id say she was pretty damn lucky.

Designed, no, but capable, possibly depending on just how far the shooter is away.

so it just rolled along on flat tires?

public safety officer needs a better person to plan her routes. no one is gonna be ready with RPG, if they dont know the person is coming...

^ I think that part may be exaggerated. I'm gonna go ahead and guess that an RPG was fired at it, but did not actually impact the vehicle directly.

the one on the left is what its designed to be hit by, the one on the right is a .50 cal which is what it got hit with. So im still thinking shes pretty lucky.

Somewhat common in Brazil. You can get stuff that WILL stop heavy machine gun fire and explosives. Unlike most people here, I actually know what I am talking about. If money is no problem, you can get that sort of stuff.

Edit: Just saw the comparison. If it was designed to sustain only 7.62, then there was some sort of wrong reporting there.
