| Cousin from HKG - 20 Years old
Wondering anyone can give suggestions where and what to take my cousin to enjoy vancouver and the surrounding areas of Vancouver.
What things to do and what is something of a unique experience especially for a 20 year old.
She's never been outside of HKG and i'm relatively older then her, so i'm pretty much past that age by almost a decade and not sure what and where to take a 20 year old out. (this might not make a difference but i figure i'd lay my card outs for help.)
Save for Tourist sights and places to eat.
I'm just looking for suggestions that would help out my planning.
She's here for 20 days.
Anything would great.
If some younger RS crowd would give some input that be good too.

depends on what you want to show her,
walk around science world at night; or in the day start biking from here to stanley park
lynn valley's suspension bridge,
watch airplanes take off at night in richmond,
maybe go to a bar for one of the playoff games,
maybe a chicken auction in surrey,
go clubbing,
and possibly a day trip down to seattle.

bungee! scare the hell of her... and eat.
Cliff climbing!
Vancouver's good for eating since it has so many places and diverse culture.
But okay...
Downtown eastside where its suspicious! (Also it's Chinatown :P)
Take her to the V.Island or kayak, sports, etc.
POCO has a shooting range and some other neat things north east.
Oh, take your cousin to a hockey game, let her understand Vancouver hockey hype! (IF, BIG IF, canucks are still in the playoffs by the time she arrives |

Never thought about kayak-ing good idea.
Hiking was something I thought of doing and the chief, if she could handle it.
Keep them coming! If i get tickets, i'll take her. hopefully we're in that deep already =P

I always like taking people up to SFU if it's clear and not too cold. Get a coffee and enjoy the view.
Stanley Park is a must.
When is she going to be here? You can't do the Chief atm, they still have snow. You can drive up to Whistler though, enjoy the snow and a bit of a walk around the villiage.
Lighter hiking that can be found out in Poco at Minekata and in Port Moody around Bunzen Lake, or White Pine.

On the more serious side, beside SFU TheNewGirl mentioned, Burnaby Mountain Park's a good option too. Pretty nice view up there on a nice clear day. Not only the view, but also the flowers if your timing's right. More suggestions to follow at a later time.

Typical 20 year old honger girls don't play outside. Since she's been in HK all her life, maybe shes into:
Sing K
Buy LV/Gucci
BBT
Drinking (where you can play Honger games)
Super Trio - Apr26
Chinese food - show her it's better than HK
King Crab/spot prawns - HK sells different ones
Sushi - HK is so much more expensive
Shopping - here, States
You probably know your cousin more. Btw, why do you have to be with her for 20 days? Send her to Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal for a week to explore and you are free for the week. (that's what i'd do to get a breather). :P Posted via RS Mobile |

He was amazed at the difference one block can make.
poorest postal code in Canda right beside Gastown.
Can be an eye opener while still close to tourist attractions (Chinatown/ Gastown)

Show her Richmond, every time I have somebody from HK come I always show them Richmond. They love it for the obvious reasons and it's also kind of neat to show them just how many Chinese/Taiwanese etc people there are to the point where Richmond is dominated with so many Asian stores. It's quite a shock for some.

My cousin came over with her family for the first time several years ago.
They knew English, but not to the point where they can properly communicate with someone. (your basic. post 1997 honger english)
Anyways they were afraid of coming over. They even brought those speaking dictionaries and shit despite my mom telling them it's completely useless.
First thing when they got off the plane, drop off luggage at home and then we went to Yaohan to eat.
They felt immediately at home.
'nuff said
