Alternatives to Jimmy's Beef Jerky? Sometimes it pains me to even think about losing Jimmy's.. but alas, I must move on. What is everyone eating since Jimmy's has been gone? Are there other jerky places that make it in the same style as Jimmy's? I don't want that normal chinese beef-sugar mixture that has been processed into a sheet of crap.. I came across the name Bee Kim Heng, what is there's like? |

Tried Soo's.. not a fan. |
the search continues.. |
Best beef jerky out there is made by Fleetwood sausage. SO SO SO good. they have a store in Cloverdale and they also sell it at the Deroche store. |
Soo's? What an insult. :lol |
im looking for different types of jerkeys and pepperoni , like different meats that are good any suggestion? my buddy made some out of deer before and it was preety awesome |
Aberdeen mall . Across from the badminton shop there is a shop beside the "toilet" store. I like eating the spicy beef jerky. It's decent enough. 1/4 lb - Around $5 1 lb - Around $20 |
JIMMY'S IS GONE!?!??!?! I used to live just up the street from there and my mom would buy tons of the stuff....I haven't had it in years, but I remember it being really good. When did they go out of business and why? What a shame... :( |

You can kinda tell how old a poster is based on his/her experiences with Jimmy's Beef Jerky... :) |
I was a wee lad. |

jimmys has been gone since.. i'm gonna guess... 2003-4 ish? |
Anyone else notice tnt stop carrying beef jerky? Posted via RS Mobile |
SOOoooOOOoooo WOOoooOOOooo :troll: |
+1 to Bee Kim Heng. Never tried Jimmy's before but this ones like chewy and has very good flavour. They grill it to give it some burnt bits and cut off the really burnt parts and sell it as alot of people like it for some reason lol. Grilling it gives it a really overall nice texture. Better try it soon as they will be closing in about a months time and will be moving somewhere else! |
Bumping an old thread but I'm gonna try Bee Kim Heng tomorrow since they close today. Anybody knows where I can get the Vietnamese style beef jerky. Gf smuggled a box from Vietnam when she was on vacation but I finished it.:okay: |
Bee Kim Heng appeared on Dragon's Den and got a deal! http://www.cbc.ca/video/#/Shows/1221.../ID=2139225761 starts at around 8:20 |
Not a fan of Bee Kim. The beef jerky reminds me of Soo: Sugary. Freakshow mentioned he doesn't like the sugary crap. |
Beef Jerky, Jerky in Many Flavors | Big John's Beef Jerky Online, need to wait about 2 weeks for them to arrive. |
I actually like Bee Kim Heng. Yeah some of it is a little sweeter, but there's other kinds too. Used to come here with mommy every weekend :fullofwin: |
I just tried BK and its not bad. Bought 1 lbs of spicy beef and its not really spicy at all. Its also on the greasy side unlike the vietnamese beef jerky. Not as good but oh well, probably the best you can have locally. |
Hopcott Meats in Pitt Meadows - they make their own in-house, from their own local beef. Best jerky, pepperoni, sausages, steaks... you name it. |
Didn't even realize Bee Kim was there or what the store was about. Every time I go buy weed next door I see tons of people stopping in and out of this store and finally decided to walk in. Tried 1/2 lb of regular pork and another 1/2 lb of the beef. It's nothing different than the other stuff you can buy in Richmond so I wasn't particularly wowed by it. |
