He shamed himself, his school, his friends, and his family. That shame is good enough for me, anything else (jail, failure in life, etc) are just the icing on the cake. Posted via RS Mobile
from the looks of it, i'd say he was trying to be the valiant one and stop them from pushing the van over. i mean come on. first of all who would be moronic enough (the rioters would, but not an anti-rioter) to be the ONE person on the other side of the van if they were trying to push it over. there must've been at least 10 people on the other side. if he was trying to push it over he would've been at the front or the rear, or the side where everybody was. not alone on one side.
and you can clearly see from the way he's moving that he isn't putting force into pushing the truck OVER, he is putting force into holding it still. and look at 0:47. he waves people over. to help push the truck over? i don't think that'd be necessary. his intentions seem clear to me
not the smartest thing to be doing, but goes in line with everything else he was doing - brave and full of class. the guy has my utmost respect
edit// confirmed after i kept watching. he wasn't trying to push the truck over. look at what he does after the truck goes over (@ 1:13 mark). doesn't cheer. grabs his shoe, puts it on, and tries to tell the people cheering to stfu

Yah, agree! From the video, he's the only one who's trying to oppose the rocking momentum of the van! Even right before it tips, he's using all his strength to prevent it from tipping, but not strong enough
Yeah it has but good to see again. Note the guy in the Adidas jacket is the same guy that tried to stop people from messing with the Smart car and tipping the van over.

You have to understand, the onus isn't on regular citizens to document this for the cops, it's not your job, while it's admirable and brave for you guys to be out there filming documenting, I feel, personally, that you guys were doing more harm than good. Videos clearly showed that only a small sample of the large contingent were actually doing the rioting. You can see everyone whip out their cellphones and digital devices ready to capture these youtube/twitter/tumblr/fb moments. If everyone just got out of dodge then the police would've had a better handle on the situation.
The rioters only persisted because they used the throngs of people as their shield and camouflage.
Just wanted to quote this, since I was going to post something similar
from the video, is she the one who started the fire in the back of the police car? if so, she is clearly identified in this... is that enough to convict her if they find her?
someone on another board said there were police-issue gear and weapons in the trunks of both police cars that were stolen when the vehicles were ransacked... any truth to that?

seems like he is trying to stop them from tipping it over trying to get other people to help. knows they are trying to tip it towards him. its great that he is sticking up for his city but honestly in this kind of crowd its pretty insane to do so.
