Holy effing s*it.. My car was parked there too! My gf and I were watching the game @ Riverrock. After the Bruins scored the 3rd goal, I had a bad feeling that shit's gonna hit the fan soon. We booked it and headed straight home.
Good luck with the insurance dealings
on ctv this morning they were reporting that icbc is handling riot-related damage claims separately from regular claims in an effort to expedite the process... if you are reading this roach, contact your claims adjuster asap.
someone a few pages back was asking would icbc cover this under what... according to their webage it falls under comprehensive i think?
Comprehensive coverage
Comprehensive coverage protects your vehicle against a number of losses. As well as paying for repairs or a replacement windshield, it covers you if the vehicle is lost or damaged by any of the following:
weather — lightning, windstorm, hail, rising watertheft, vandalism and malicious mischief
missiles and falling or flying objects, including rock or gravel damage to your windshield
the stranding, sinking, burning, derailment, upset or collision of a conveyance transporting the vehicle on land or water
fire
earthquake civil commotion or riots
impact with a domestic or wild animal
Talk to your Autoplan broker about Comprehensive coverage.

i recall back during the olympics the vpd was trying to have cctv cameras installed in the downtown core, and civil rights activists made a huge deal about it... did they succeed in taking those cameras down, or are they still around?

Can anybody get the Conan video to load? I've tried with three different browsers and nothing works! I just get the spinning loading circle and a black screen.
Sonick is a genius. I won't go into detail what's so great about his post. But it's damn good!

i was googling and came across this (dated last may):
Shortage forces VPD to ask for purchase of new vehicles
Officers have been forced to ride in cabs or use their personal vehicles to carry out police work
... i guess they will be adding to the number of cars they need to the list now

i haven't watched the video in detail, but are there any clear images of these people caught in the act? unfortunately without that, these are only headshots and are not enough to convict
These are the people who are actually SEEN committing a crime in the video. The pictures are all print screened from the video

I'm here. The car was towed to Rusty's tow yard in Richmond yesterday and ICBC would arrange to pick it up from there. I called 8AM yesterday so at the time ICBC didn't say anything about expediting the claim per se. As well, I don't know whether my claim is going to be lumped into the riot damaged vehicles because of it being in Richmond. Hopefully I'll hear from them today.
The security guy at River Rock was super nice and called me back really promptly. Unfortunately, they can only see the car in daylight. At night it's too dark for them to pick anything out. A heads up to anyone that parks on that dirt lot.
I caught this right before the looting even started at the Bay. It catches from how it started to everyone rushing in and coming out. Starts around 1:45 but watch the whole thing to see if you can identify anyone. This video also shows these kids beating up a employee (I'm pretty sure I didn't confuse him for a looter) inside the Bay.
Also shows that the employees used the fire extinguisher to push people back.
These are all print screened from this video of people who are seen committing crimes so there IS EVIDENCE:
Even though you don't see anything in this video, I recognized her immediately as one of the rowdiest chicks there. She was there from beginning to end. True Rioter.
Caught smashing the window with the bat (0:30)
Cool guy trying to smash the window with Newspaper stand (2:06)
First person to enter the Bay, and egging everyone to come in with him (4:25)
This guy hands his murse to his girlfriend so he can go loot her something (3:45)
Asians loot too! (5:05)
another one? (5:10)
didn't know korean popstars were in town (5:20)
This guys right behind the korean popstar at (5:21)
Punched the Bay employee (5:50-5:54)
I added times to when these people appear in the video.
Also found another asian kid, pretty sure SOMEONE can identify this one. Very clear shot in the video of him coming out (5:15) and he reappears at (5:32)
