Epoxy garage floor

Has anyone epoxy coated a garage floor with any success?

I'm looking to buy a kit from Epoxy Paint For Garage Floors – Epoxy-Coat.com and tackle this sometime this summer.

I was wondering if anyone had any luck with any of the standard style kits from Home Depot or Rona and what their results were?

I want something that will last for a long time and will resist spills and hot tire pick-up and is easy to clean and maintain.

Thanks

I got the kit from home depot. $100 and it comes with the prep mix, epoxy, and flakes. That's enough to do 1 garage bay. It claims to resist hot tire pick-up etc and has been fine so far. Only thing you might want to do is pick up some clear coat to make it shiny and ensure that the flakes are really sealed in.

How does the finished product feel? Is it slippery at all?

Not slippery whatsoever. I like everything about it except the price. I'm guessing you may be able to find it cheaper somewhere else.

Nice, price doesn't seem that bad. I'm hoping to start a new garage build soon and I'm going to use something similar on the floor.

Hope it holds up... I've heard lots of bad stories about Behr's supposed 2 part epoxy (I used to work in a Paint Store) and same goes for other people with a quick Google search.

If it was my house I'd go with tiles instead.

I heard varying things about epoxy floors, esp the DIY kind. I'd be interested to know how it lasts over a few years. You need to do proper concrete prep too..
I was gonna go with these guys: Garage Storage Cabinets | Shelving | Flooring | Clever Quarters

They lay down a truly professional floor with a 25 year warranty. I'm sure it's way better than the DIY solutions, of course, it's also way pricier..
