Disputing a ticket - written request for fine reduction Just a few questions: 1. I read somewhere that the officer is no longer required to show up in court in order to have the charges stick and all they have to do is submit a written statement. Is this true? 2. I was given a ticket for section 25.30 (4) of the MVA which is basically a failure to comply ticket for a previous inspection notice. Am I stuck with having to pay the full $598 (IIRC) or can this be reduced? 3. If it can be reduced, is there any difference in submitting a written request for a fine reduction/additional time to pay the ticket vs. showing up to court that day and asking for the same thing? What I mean is, will showing up to court be a factor in the amount that is reduced, or the additional time given? |

Show up, cop might not, get off scott free. Cop shows up, judge dosnt think ur such a pussy compared if you wrote in, writing in is the dumbest thing u can do, unless of course u have no choice. |
^ this,, or in my case, ticket disputed, then i got the date postpone , they gave me a 2nd date,(mentioned that 2nd date is static and cannot be changed again) i was suppose to go for vacation that time, so i just pleaded guilty,, no explanation . got reduced fine automatically.. |
