Need to read a Check Engine code on a 06 Fusion

Hey guys. Check engine light came on my car, and I need to get the code read. Should I take it into the dealer? Buy a code reader? Give someone a six-pack to use theirs?

Suggestions are appreciated, I suck at repairing cars.

aw man i so would lend you one for a six-pack if i had one does no one you know have one ?? If not maybe suggest buying one for future problems thus not having to ask anyone for one again because you'll have one already? And dont take it to the dealer just for that

Hopefully someone near you can lend you a hand, I'd read your codes for you yet I'm far from Surrey.

This code reader goes on sale for $30 sometimes, get one and keep it in your car.

Hopefully somebody has one and is kind enough to help you with a scan.

Otherwise, go out and buy your own scanner because some of them cost as much as a 6-pack.

Where in Surrey are you and How soon would you need the code read(and possibly cleared?)

I'm in the Guildford Area and I've got an SCT X3 that should be able to read the DTCs but I won't really be available until Saturday at the earliest.
