Stuff like that is awesome.......... I cannot do anything close to that, but man, it's so amazing what a human with extraordinary talent can achieve. A symphony by pen.........

I collect ornate stamps, certificates, and documents from an era where that kind of attention to detail was the expected norm. I can stare at the artwork for hours.

How do these people keep things so perfectly aligned and symmetrical is beyond me.

While I don't deny he's very talented, a large part of his skill comes from practice and focus. I just think it's awesome that he's preserving a dying art.

We're in a time where everything comes easy, short attention and instant gratification is the norm. Automation takes away from contemplating thoughts in the amount of time it takes to type things out. Less time is taken to enjoy what's around us. No imagination when you can just google other people's thoughts. Virtual fucking, click this link.

heres my side of the story: happend on Nov 27 2015

Im first car at intersection on left turnning lane on CANADA WAY and WILLINGDON. turning left to go onto HIGHWAY 1.

so light goes GREEN. I go into the Shell gas station park my car and answered all my messages (because texting and driving is a big NONO for me)
When finished i put phone away and pull out of gas station and make a right to go onto highway. as i make a right. There was a check stop. A cop pulled me over and said i was using an Electronic Device. i argued of course, cop gave me ticket anyways.

so i dispute the ticket and now the court date is arriving soon.
I feel i am completely innocent and shouldnt have to plead guilty to anything.

Jan 30 2016. i got 3 points on my driving record. (first 3 in 12 years of driving)
A lawyer will cost me $1120 to fight and potentially win or lose or do i plead guilty
and pay a lesser fine plus the ICBC's DPP. which is $300 for 3 years. will equal aound $1000.

what should i do Fellas

did you park in a parking spot? or were you just haphazardly stopped within the gas station area?

damn, they're getting faster with court dates...used to take more than a year LOL

I thought it was anything over 3 points you had to pay premium. That's how it was 10 years ago. You won't get suspended over 1 ticket in 12 years.

it's about timing........... as in when is your birthday and is it close to the ticket date? You're okay with 3 points in a year. IIRC, it's the ticket date, not the court date. You can call ICBC to find out if you are in the clear or not.

You can potentially avoid points if you get the cop to change the ticket to the vehicle owner in lieu of the operator/driver.

But this would likely come at a price of pleading guilty.

Can you insure a vehicle under your name without being the registered owner?

may sound like a bad idea but i'm thinking of insuring my GF's vehicle as my second vehicle and her the primary operator. She got in a little fender bender a while back in a parking lot and ICBC basically fucked her premiums, had no discount prior and now insurance for a 2008 elantra is going to be like 4000 for a year.. i trust her enough to put it on mine, but if i gotta pay tax or anything to transfer ownership may not be worth it

yes. at time of insurance and renewals the owner must be present and provide their DL as well. IIRC they need to sign papers too but don't quote me on that.

That's private property and the RCMP can't give you a ticket for using an electronic device on private property(a law in BC) you don't need a lawyer just dispute the ticket and then speak with the officer before you walk into the court room.

As per MVA:

Prohibition against use of electronic device while driving
214.2
(1) A person must not use an electronic device while driving or operating a motor vehicle on a highway.
(2) Without limiting subsection (1), a person must not communicate by means of an electronic device with another person or another device by electronic mail or other text-based message.

Exceptions to prohibition — certain permitted activities
214.4 Section 214.2 does not apply to a person who uses an electronic device

(a) while operating a motor vehicle that is safely parked off the roadway or lawfully parked on the roadway and is not impeding traffic,

(b) to call or send a message to a police force, fire department or ambulance service about an emergency, or
(c) that is configured and equipped to allow hands-free use in a telephone function, is used in a hands-free manner and is used in accordance with the regulations, if any.

I'd bring that up.

She backed into a woman who was pulling into the same spot she was in at like 5km/h and the dumb bitch she backed into claimed injuries, so she couldn't pay it out

Was this before ICBC made the "under 30km/hr no such thing as injuries" rule? I got rear ended (hard enough that the bolts on the other person's license plate indented the bumper (with clear impressions) and they deemed my injuries invalid because they said it was under 30km.
