I'm actually kinda hoping to at some point. If someone drops out, it could be a chance for me... But most likely not next year, perhaps the one next...

^u still in waiting list? I know a guy who applied and got everything done before the deadline... and he's still on waiting list, so it just goes to show how much of a lottery it is..

If you are very interested, I suggest you to apply early!

Last year, most positions were filled by the time when I apply near the end of April. I heard it was very competitive too, like at least a hundred students applying for 1 job.

You guys need to apply fast. Interviews are giving out on a rolling basis. The sooner you apply the better. Also, when I had a job posting up on Careers Online, more than 40 people applied in 1 week. Competition is definitely there but at the same time, lots of people shotgunned generic resumes and covers.

You will need to stand out by using a tailor made application, not generics.

Once you start reading a pile of resumes, you will be able to see patterns. A lot of people use the same resume and cover regardless of the type of position. For example, if the job is IT related, your application should have IT stuff. Use the same keywords as the job description. Talk about your IT experience. A lot of applicants don't even put any IT info on their application.

Lots of competition. High pay, flexible hours. Works great for students. Where else can you find a part time job that pays $15+ per hour and can let you go to work while at school? Get off class, go to work, get off work, go back to class.

Most of them ask for your resume and cover letter as well as your time table; rarely does one ask for an unofficial transcript.

That's a really broad question and it really depends on what kind of job you're looking at.

Well when you think about it, after you graduate, there will be times when you have little to no experience working in the field you are applying at. What else do employers have from you to evaluate you? Your grades are very important and yes, there are many employers out there that will ask for your transcript.

Depends on what position... anyone without a degree can probably do customer service or sales or call centre type jobs. What kind of office jobs? Pretty much anyone can work as a normal admin or be a receptionist or an assistant too.

Anything more technical like an IT guy, analyst, etc might need a certification, experience, or grades.

Buuuuut I'm still in school so I might be wrong. Best to ask in the employment forum lol.
