Pet Insurance

Hey just wondering if any of you bought any pet insurance and which company did you buy?

My dog's getting old. Got sick and took her to the vet. Just blood test and X-ray added up to around 4 bills. Sad part was they still don't know what's wrong with her. These things are pricey

Problem is if you sign up for pet insurance now, you're going to be paying a lot for it.

If the dog had pet insurance from the time it was a puppy, the ongoing rates would be much less.

^ Especially now that the pet is old and problems are starting to arise, the premium is going to be WAYYYYY expensive!

They can even deny your application based on the dog's health history. A friend has 2 dogs with health problems and when the policy expiry and she wanted to renew, they basically told her no thanks go somewhere else.

What? That's BS... isn't that the whole point of subscribing to pet insurance from the time that they're young, so that when they do start developing issues later on in life, they would be covered?

Yeah but her bills were massive. Like 20k+. I dunno, that's just her story.

One thing you gotta keep in mind is that a lot of these insurance policy have a clause that limits the amount of payout per illness, so for example, if many different diagnosis and treatments are made for the same issue, a lot of it isn't going to be covered even if you have a policy in force, you might want to look into that
