Radar Detector from china?

Anyone purchased a beltronics sti or escort passport 9500ix from china?
I am thinking of tellin my friend to buy one from china for me, but i have a feeling it wont work here or its fake..

Don't think you'll be saving anything. Nor will you be finding legit cheap ones either. Escort makes a majority of their products in Canada, not too sure about Beltronics.

Radar detectors do just that, detect the presence and the use of a radar unit. Jammers prevent the proper operation the radar and are illegal as they are design to cause interference.
There are no true radar jammers on the market because of the legalities and that they do not work because they simply do not have high enough output to jam a radar gun.

Oh okay thanks very much. So does that mean I can buy a radar detector from china and use it and not be afraid of showing it if a cop for whatever reason decides to pull me over ?

Yes as long as you are in BC, Alberta or Saskatchewan. All other canadian provinces and territories have outlawed radar detectors.
