I'll agree that the Corolla didn't exactly do the smart thing by stopping, but that doesn't mean ICBC will rule that driver at fault. If anything, the truck with the dashcam will be found 75-100% responsible. As a driver on the road, it's your responsibility to keep a certain amount of distance between your vehicle and the one ahead of you in case something like this happens. A vehicle may have to ground to a sudden halt with no prior notice for any number of reasons, so it's your responsibility to make sure you've left enough space so that you don't hit them.

Also, it wasn't like the dump truck was about to smash into the Corolla. The dump truck knew how big the lane was and that it had to yield. The dump truck always stayed close to the right, which left LOTS of room even for the Corolla to keep going. It's very rare you will be able to argue your way out of fault for rear ending someone, especially if they did not cut you off. The video is going to more likely work against the driver of the camera.

Just another day on the S2S - including dump trucks in the fast lane and expensive cars driven without common sense.

I'm wondering about that too, but there is actually policing department near by on lansdowne, like 1 minute walk away where it happened

Drove by a horrific accident involving a bike and a car on SW marine drive near Victoria drive around 10ish. I think it happen just minutes before I drove by because people had their cars stopped in the middle of the road and tons of bystanders standing and watching. No cops or ambulance on the scene. The biker looked in bad shape, hopefully he pulls through.

Lol, a person holding a spot is the least "bad" thing I've seen in the Costco parking lot EVER. Considering last week there were two fist fights and a drunk brown guy passed out in the bushes at 1:30pm

Funny, I bought a cam for my bike that I daily, and since doing so I've only ever captured like one thing worth posting (and it was just a guy speeding on steveston highway, so no biggie) .. How typical

WTF is wrong with you?? @1:10 The guy is in the oncoming lane and you actually speed up as if to try not letting him back in the lane. Whats the point of that??

First of all, that was not the oncoming lane. Second, if I didn't want to let her in, I would have sped up way earlier. I'm not blind or deaf, I see and hear her coming up illegally beside me.

I would be surprised if the Corolla is a cop car as there are no lights on and you can see someone by the driver's door. There was probably a minor accident.

There isn't a Police department on Lansdowne, it's a Community Police Office, which is where Officers do their paperwork, amongst other things. The only Police department in Richmond is on 5 road. You cannot make reports at that office, unless you use the 911 phone that is located outside of that building.
