I was on my way dropping my buddies off. whenn..... I witnessed a crash. Lucky the left turn only got hit on the back right,Which made him spun. Lucky he didn't hit the stores. His wheels was not aligned anymore. The other person who hit the guy was distracted and going probably ... 80 around kingsway and tyne st. The left turner was in the clear for sure.

me and 3 other witnesses who saw it from their hotel gave him our info just in case the guy tries to pin it on him.

drinking and driving at 9am on a Monday morning? cool! Buddy sheared off a power pole and pushed it 6 feet onto the side walk.....then tried to start it again and take off. Cops hauled him off pretty quickly.

Was the loudest sound and all the power lines along the street were swinging like a jump rope. Note the lack of skid marks...

We are on day 2 of repair....wish I could see his bill.

^^ If the idiot was drunk, insurance won't cover his truck either. He's gonna be in a world of hurt. All because he had to have that drink...

Yeah, he even looked like a drunk so I suspect it wasn't his first time.

His only concern was have a cigarette. Fucking douche bag. There are A LOT of people who walk around this area so much so, there was about 10 witnesses simply out walking their dogs, etc and there is a daycare 20 feet from that corner.

We are lucky he only took out himself and a pole.

If you can't drive in the rain, you need to stop driving all together. Admitting you are a shitty driver, a REAL SHITTY driver is not going to make you a good driver or make me feel bad for you. Do us all a favour and get the fuck off the road, dude.

At least he's aware he's a crappy driver. With that said, he's probably more likely to try to improve his driving versus those who refuse to believe they're a crappy driver.

actually when its really raining you can barely see any lines at night. The lines have no reflectors at all unless its one of the newly paved ones. you see most people driving into your lane.

The lines is pretty fucked up on Hwy 1 when it rains, especailly with all the construction going on there.

Yep. Especially when they grind out the old ones and paint new lines. When there's a glare on the water, it can be hard to tell which is which (at times, impossible). In that case, you have to look ahead and note where the barriers are, while watching out for other drivers, that are less aware.

I really hope, when all is said and done, the stretch from West Van to Langley or farther, has raised reflectors on all the lines.

I was already on the road and then it started to rain, and I never wanted you to feel bad for me, Obviously I knew I fucked up. And was lucky no cars were around or on that line.

I do want to improve driving at night and while raining like its going to flood the streets, Isn't easy to drive.

I honestly prefer those lines that are made up of lights or reflects from your lights so you can see it and if you go over the line you feel it. if you kind of get what im saying
.

This is what pisses me off. I used to go to Toronto every year and they use an ultra-reflective paint. When it rained there (and there were some seriously nasty rain/hail during the thunderstorms), you could EASILY see the lines.

I have no idea why we don't use that paint here in BC. I have no idea the cost difference, but surely ICBC would (should) be in favour of implementing it to decrease the number of insurance claims.

As for seeing the lines, I never had much of an issue when I lived in Burnaby. After driving on the island for so many years (some points of Hwy 18 and parts of the north island are really bad during heavy rain at night) and the interior, the mainland is pretty mild as far as line visibility goes.

Is it just me or I can see the lines perfectly fine regardless of rain or time of day. I seriously dont understand what everyone is complaining about, the line is either white or yellow and the ground is a black or dark grey. Stands out pretty clearly.

I mean sure its worn out in places and it may cut in and out, but its not hard to stay in your lane by any means.

Get your eyes checked, get some better headlights, take the tint off your windshield, etc. But do something or GTFO the road.
