If he is a Translink bus, he has the right of way.. and if he hits you.. ICBC will assign 100% fault to you. So stay the heck away from buses while driving.

The fact "yield to bus" apparently is a law, so you will have to fight them. I just stay the heck away from them where possible to nip the issue at the bud. If you are right besides the bus, you are in the blind spot.

Around 3PM today, newer white VW Golf (or GTI, or Golf R) that decided to run a red light while I was making a left from E 12th onto Victoria.... you are a fucking idiot. Who does that?

Traffic was crawling and you easily could have stopped, but instead, you decided to gun it - after the light turned red, mind you, and I was still in the intersection making my left - and almost t-boned me in the process. Which, IMO, would have been very bad for you in my lifted Toyota truck and your "stanced" Golf. If I wasn't paying attention enough to floor it when I saw that you weren't going to stop, you most likely would have been badly injured since you were making absolutely no effort to slow/stop your car.

Smarten up and pay attention.

I was ahead of the bus, and there was a huge space for the bus behind me, but the bus accelerated until it was beside me and then just started moved over.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought you're only required to yield to buses when they're pulling away from the curb? If they're already travelling in traffic, then it's not required.

i am pretty sure its whenever you need to yield to them, not just when they are pulling away from curb. so either lane changing, merging lanes, etc etc.

"On any road in British Columbia where the speed limit is 60 km/h or slower, you must yield to a bus that is displaying the prescribed yield sign and is signalling that it wants to move out of the curb lane or bus stop."

http://drivesmartbc.ca/commercial-vehicles/yielding-bus

That being said, I still try to yield to buses even when they're changing lanes, because it's hard for vehicles that long to get around sometimes.

Kind of shitty driving related, I read police in Washington state will be going after left lane hogs much more aggressively. I hope for the sake of every "good" driver that the cops around here start to do the same because nothing worst than some shitty ass driver keeping pace with another shitty driver and preventing others from passing.

Read an article about this in the paper the other day...

Great.

Most states are looking to increase speed limits, we on the other hand have idiots who want to decrease the speed limit and not do jack shit about shitty ass drivers who clog up left lanes which results in more congestion.

Left lane = passing lane. If you aren't passing anyone, get in the right lane.

not just the lady.... I've sat in many cars where the driver would just look at the rear camera on the dash to back up. Some don't even do a 360 check before backing up. People need to understand that these are driving aids, not a replacement.

What pisses me off are the bus drivers who start pulling out before they signal and still expect you to yield even when you're past the point of no return of passing them.

Yes, that makes me wonder what if you have a dashcam of them pulling off the curb WITHOUT THEM SIGNALING and they hit you? I can't see the other party being at fault, all though i wouldn't be surprsied if ICBC saw it otherwise.
