The only thing I can imagine is either the Lexus was behind me and swung wide to try and get in front of me, or she ran the red on her side. Perhaps you guys can think of something else...

Yeah agreed the Lexus ran the red.

As there was only a SUV to the front of you and the sliver car in the distance, in the parking lot.

Lexus had to run the red to be there.

A head on collision with each car going 60km/h is not the same as hitting a wall going 60km/h for the occupants though.

Drive safe guys, avoid the left lanes if you can if there is no center dividers. I remember a few days ago there was a car crashing into the oncoming traffic on the pattullo bridge as well. Phew what a close call..
Wow. That just struck a chord.

My brother died around the same spot you almost got hit. He was heading to NW, in the right lane and got smoked by a '73 Malibu going the other direction, head on. The passenger in the other car died as well.

Glad you're okay.

^if you look closely at the video, there's movement of the seatbelt clearly indicating he took off the seatbelt and also strapped it back on after.

better put on that flame suit, because those 2 clips could have been prevented. first clip, the guy had his signal on for the longest time. could have just let him in. second clip, you saw them and should have anticipated that could happen. could have just changed lane.

shitty deal.

so what you are saying is that everytime i see a car roll past or start inching from a stop sign, i should either change lane or jam on my brake when im approaching?

No but you can shadow the brake and let up off the gas. It's called defensive driving; assume everyone's retarded.

ASSUME?!?!

I'd conservatively say that 85% of drivers in the GVRD ARE RETARDED.
Defensive driving is 1 thing, but pingu just shows how people drive now-a-days.

Clip 1: "My signal is on! It's my fucking right to change lanes!"
Clip 2: "If I can get infront of you, you have to slow down and yield to me!"
Clip 3: Refer to Clip 2.
Clip 4: ....

That van legit GUNNED it in reverse...

its called proactive, not reactive. and the guy didn't just inch, he clearly went past the stop sign and kept on going while there was still plenty of space to change lane or slow down. reading and anticipating peoples moves on the road is going to save you a whole boat load of trouble.

just because you are in the right of way, and the other guy wasn't, doesn't mean you should take the right of way and cause a possible accident. its always better to prevent an accident even if you had the right of way. its always someone else you gotta look out for no matter how good your own driving is.

Got rear ended today while at a red light on the way to work.... how people miss the big red light in the middle of the street baffles me...

Then going through the same intersection on the way one half way through it and guy decides to make his turn into my lane from the cross street slammed on the brakes and just missed him, them decided to 15km under the speed limit for 2 blocks... seemed like insurance fraud what he was trying..

Just not my day.. May need to invest in a dash cam

Had a guy slam on the brakes at a crosswalk here in Richmond in front of me, with no pedestrians (but with the overhead lights flashing). I braked hard and high-beamed him. No honking, no rude gestures. Guy proceeds to flip me off. I try to overtake him, he accelerates...

So, naturally, I whip out my phone and start recording as we come to a stop. Immediately, the guy puts out his hand to apologize lol

Gotta get that dashcam.

read and anticipate all you want, but in the end you are only ASSUMING what they are going to do or end up doing. the one time you fuck up on your assumption, you may end up getting screwed yourself.
