^imo that guy's an idiot too, as a driver if you notice the two lanes next to you, mostly cars completely stopped and also they left a gap at the intersection, something's up obviously, you don't just go zooming on by. knight st is especially notorious for this type of situation.

^Wouldn't be surprised if the dashcam guy would be partially at fault. he's driving fairly quick giving his next lane is dead-stop, and he failed to slow down and scan the intersection to make sure it's clear. My friend has been dealing with a case like this for the past three years.

Edit: Fatal ninjaed me.

Wow what an odd sight

drivers not blocking an intersection...check
CRV not triggering the pedestrian crosswalk...check

I actually remember driving by that accident on my way home from work, everyone had to merge into one lane after and I had to detour around it

I would slow down a bit when passing intersections in that situation.
Especially, both left lanes already stopped at traffic light.

Defensive driving will safe your life and others.

the same could be said for the CRV driver IMO. Just cause all the lanes (aside from the last one that caused the crash is clear) proceed with caution.

I also found it an odd sight that other drivers weren't blocking that intersection as well

he probably will be partially at fault. knew a family friend in a similar situation. going down granville southbound on the right lane. both left and middle lane completely stopped with a gap at the 49th st intersection. northbound left turner just floored it in the gap and head on the family friend. the family friend was found partially at fault which i dont understand as going straight should have the right of way.

^My coworker had the same thing - he was 100% NOT at fault.

Essentially he was T-boned, towards the front of the car. I guess it depends on the adjuster then.

They wrote the car off and paid him 2 grand more than what he owed the bank, so it worked out well for him lol

I told him I got a dash cam and caught everything on camera incase he tries to claim that I rear ended him

I also submitted my video to icbc and they deemed he's 100% at fault. Without my dash cam, I would of been fucked

^^^ totally will do that since he has nothing to lose. Thank goodness for the dash cam.

There should be penalties / fines for such blatant lying.

What did the driver say when he got out of the car? Did he try to blame you right off the bat?

That happened to me in my old truck, a middle aged lady had snow on her back window and reversed to let a car in front of her for some reason. Luckily she was honest and admitted fault, even the icbc lady handling the claim said I would have been fucked if she lied.
