Left turner is 100%. The other guy had a yellow. Maybe not the best decision on his part but still, legally, left turner will almost always be 100% at fault.

Left turner. Nearly clobbered one just like that going west on 4th, in Kits. Guy left turned in front of me, on a yellow.

Make sure you send it in to ICBC.

But like everyone said so far, it's 100% left turner at fault since he doesn't have right of way until the light is red.

The left turner made a directional change into the path of the straight through vehicle who entered the intersection lawfully on a yellow light. Left turner is toast at 100%

Logically it's 50/50 because the guy going straight is speeding pretty fucking hard and can't realistically stop for anything with the wet road
But it's left turner

Next video doesn't contain anything out of the ordinary but I just want to know if I'm wrong for waiting? I know I can/should have turned into the most right lane first but the cars turning left from the intersection sometimes sway over the line or do what the cars in the video do and turn into the gas station...I guess you guys can fail me but I just want to know what you guys would do? Wait or go? you can hear the guy behind me honking but I didn't wanna risk it lol

Yes I sent to ICBC.

Would they consider the timing of the yellow light, because it seems like the Silver CRV had plenty of time to stop and chose to gun it instead. He was still way behind the cross walk when it changed to yellow.

Is that yield sign before or after the crosswalk? It looked like it was after the crosswalk to me. If that's the case, then wait as long as you want because you're yielding to those turners. Almost every other turner can't even stay within their own lane.

Red Yield sign is a stop Yield sign..

"A yield sign is a triangle with a white background and a red border. It means you must let traffic in the intersection or close to it go first. Stop if necessary and go only when the way is clear."

I personally feel that the CRV should not be at fault for running the yellow. Had there not been an accident, the CRV would've been able to FULLY clear the intersection before the light goes red. That, in my opinion, should be enough to justify going through a yellow. If the light turns red before he FULLY clears the intersection, then he shouldn't have ran it.

I loved it. Its a bit more stressful but much more hands on and in many cases accident free. I go through so many close calls on my commute in Vancouver, its scary.
yes, it was scary, but i concluded with:

Cr-V had 100% right of way...he entered the intersection when it was still yellow. Doesn't matter how late it was or how fast he was doing.

edit rewatched it...it wasn't even THAT late of a yellow...the yellow lasted 4 seconds....he was in before 3...there was a full second after the impact of yellow before red.

for sending it in.

So long as the light isn't red, the person going straight has right of way (regardless of circumstances) against left turners. So unless the person going straight ran a red, the turner will always be at fault.

Just something to keep in mind. Whenever I'm turning left, I wait until I'm absolutely sure they're coming to a stop.

Pretty sure the yellows are below average in longness. Especially compared to the whites or blacks

just because you have your blinker on, doesn't mean you have the right of way to change lanes... especially when you're at a dead stop and traffic is going 100km/h+

like people...

some idiot in a black Honda, stuck behind pylons (closed lane) almost caused a major accident on hwy 1 last night

People turning Always will be at fault.. even if the light is red, they still need to make sure its clear before turning...

I think there was a few videos in the past that showed people turning on red is at fault from ICBC ruling...
