Surprised people survived that, though perhaps in this instance being thrown from the vehicle was the better option? Either way, that's a nasty crash.

Also, what car is that?

That should be the latest generation Scion tC.

I'm amazed how they all survived that accident without any life-threatening injuries, that car looks like a crushed soda can..

What a fucking idiot. They should never be able to get their license back after something like that.

Cyclist gets KO'd by a parked c-lai in a champagne Lexus RX300 opening her door into the bike lane.

If anyone wonders why ICBC is increasing rates just look through this thread.
Most of these idiots should all be taken public transportation and have there license revoked.

They should have never gotten them in the first place. When are they going to challenge the root of the problem? You give a million fucking morons a license then are surprised when they crash?

Curious, who's at fault, if at all?

I don't think that's a marked bicycle lane, so isn't the cyclist supposed to be in the left lane?

So easy for icbc to say it's the driver's fault for 2 reasons
1: not shoulder checking before opening the door.
2: it'll cost icbc more money to attempt to place blame and recovery any money from the biker

No idea, but I submitted a witness claim report to ICBC with the video.

so how does this work now, are the passengers going to sue the driver for the crash and then icbc will pay them out for injuries and lost wages or is the drivers insurance null now because he was possibly drinking and speeding

Driving in the interior, all you need to do is spot the red Alberta plates to find the imbeciles. One guy attempted to pass 5 cars on a 600m dotted line, while pulling a 36' travel trailer, all while doing 140+. The idiot almost lost it when his trailer started swaying back and forth.

I would have posted it, but there are a lot of hours of boring driving I would have to sift through on my dashcam.

Not all. A good chunk of 'em will be staying in Kelowna (UBC-O) and Kamloops (TRU.)
