Does anyone know of any good restaurants preferably in downtown or the west side of Vancouver that's known for good turkey dinners?

thanksgiving is all about home cooked meals.

Unless you live alone away from family and you don't have 8+ friends.
Or even if you do, nobody can even remotely cook.

Don't hate man...
It's a lot of work doing a full on turkey dinner, even if you are confident in the kitchen.

There's a ton of places listed in the comments.

It's an old post, so call first to confirm.

Well if you're cooking for yourself, it's better to buy a whole chicken instead of big ass turkey.
You can do the same preparation as the turkey and it'll come out great.

fa1civic 10-06-2011 11:22 PM

you can just get a prepared chicken at superstore. Cheap, easy and tastes good! I think a whole raw chicken costs about the same as a prepared one IIRC

Culverin 10-07-2011 12:58 AM

Yeah, it's actually about the same.
A whole chicken raw costs about $9-10.

But tastewise, buying a roasted chicken just is not the same
Thanksgiving turkey gets sage, and butter and stuffing.
You'll get gravy too.

impulseX,
You gotta post stuff up on the Your Creations thread.
I'd really like to see more stuff from you pros.

Meowjin 10-07-2011 02:13 AM

who the fuck brought up chicken?

dasani604 10-07-2011 03:03 AM

I can't make thanksgiving dinner with my family and friends got their own family meals to attend to. Therefore, will eat with the gf but I'm working the whole thanksgiving weekend meaning no time to prepare food even if I wanted to.

ImpulseX, I'll be checking out Seasons in the Park. What time do you open till that evening (assuming you work there)?

For me, I personally hate turkey. It's either too dry, and on the flip side, not a big gravy fan. Thanksgiving is a time for family. Safeway chicken, crappy turkey, or even Chinese takeout, it's all good.
