Android Update Issue

Lately I've been getting an update on my Nexus S for 2.3.6 that I can't seem to finish installing. When I try to update it restarts then I see the loading icon and bar for maybe 2-3 seconds then it jumps to a screen with the android bug with an arrow coming out of a box. At this point the phone has become non-responsive and the only way to get out of this is pulling the battery out.

I'm rooted and running stock rom. I had CM7 running before but didn't like it so I went back to stock.

Can anyone help me out?

I will try and find some pictures later on.

Thanks
