Spotted: SR 458 on a ghetto tow truck

Going east bound on highway 1, between 264th and Mount Lehman.

Seriously, why would SR use a cheap tow company to transport a $250k car?

:seriously:

The cheap vinyl wrap ruins the car, I don't understand why so many people wrap exotics as opposed to having a satin clear coat sprayed.

:fulloffuck:

I see a pattern of cheapness.

Sorry for the low quality pic.

I see a pattern of exotics being towed in the lower mainland

I agree about the cheapness of wraps covering brilliant factory exotic-car paint jobs, but what constitutes a cheap towing truck/company?
Is it the length of the flatbed, or the manufacture date of the truck? Should they be transporting it in an enclosed trailer?

Because race car. Standard answer for most Auto related issues these days.

I should have taken a picture of the truck as well, it looked like it was going to fall apart. Old, beat up, gmc 3500, rusty wheels and bumpers, giant vinyl letters on the front in multiple languages. Surrey style. Carrying the 458 it would have been nearing it's max weight load.

Same one that towed MWR34's car? lol

Berz out.

Yeah, the whole vinyl thing is lame when not done properly..but it seems like every rich kid with an exotic has slathered his car in tacky vinyls from MM Design.

Let me guess.

You drive a GTR and it's vinyl wrapped?

You and Gtrr33 should have a vinyl wrapped nissan meet, you could hang out together and discuss the benefits of carbon fiber vinyl in place of real carbon fiber or kevlar.

No hate, but IMO if thats how they want to transport it let them be lol. BTW I never said that the wrap was nice smh.

I don't know why you guys are hating on wrap jobs, I think they look great when done properly. They aren't exactly cheap either, at SR they can run $5-10k depending on the car.

6insomnia9 11-19-2011 10:43 AM

I used to think wrap jobs were nice, a nice change until almost every fucking person played it out.

"K I haz race car now I wrap car and penis."

I have seen soooooo many matte black vinyl vehicles online and in real life. Honestly, some I really don't like, and some looks amazing. It really depends on the car. Even though I am in the vinyl business, there are some cars that I would hate to see it get wrapped, especially with beautiful factory colors. That amazing sparkle and gloss is what vinyl cannot replace. But of course, vinyl gives the owner a easy clean up and a consistent color and finish throughout the car.

I only came to this thread to inquire the same thing.

Akinari 06-04-2012 01:18 PM

I have nothing against wraps when it's done in a tasteful manner, not when it's done in place of carbon fibre, say a wrapped hood and hood only to imitate carbon fibre.

"Hey you got a cf hood there?"

"yeah" :troll:
