What foods do you eat thread?

I know this could be merged with the stickied workout thread, but I thought I would try to start a thread for food on it's own. Feel free to merge if it's not appropriate.

We all know that food is the other half of the equation when it comes to becoming healthy. What sort of foods and snacks are staples in your diet?

For me when I need a snack, I'll reach for a pack of edamame that you'll find in the freezer at Costco, or I'll have a protein shake. My protein shake usually has a combination of milk, juice, yogurt, frozen berries, banana and of course protein powder.

I am a shift worker so it's hard to keep a "regular" eat/sleep cycle. Any ideas on what to eat during my night shifts (meals or snacks) so I'm not feeling down in the dumps at 3am, or something that will keep me up throughout the night? What do you guys eat?

Yogurt and peanut butter. 1 scoop of yogurt, 1 scoop of peanut butter, repeat.

Why do you put juice in your shake, if you're going to put berries and a banana in there?

It's a combination depending on what I have in the house at the time. I don't always have the berries on hand etc...

And is that literally all you put in your shake? is the consistency not thick?

my goto meal replacement shake is:

2 protein scoop sized scoops of oatmeal
1-1.5 cups frozen fruit (peaches, blue berries, strawberries, etc)
1.5 scoops protein
1.5 cups 2% milk.
bonus points for adding a serving of vegegreens or greens+

add PB+J sammich on toasted multigrain with adams natural chunky PB spread thick and you've got a good quick snack meal that takes like 3 mins to prepare
