Whoever said weightlifting isn't good for cardio can ride it. Did the Chief the other day with a group of fairly athletic people. I was the biggest and heaviest guy there + I had a backpack with all my camera gear + 6 bottles of water, and I had no problems at all while people literally half my size were dying.
Day after, no leg soreness, nothing. Time to hit up some squats
The bodyweight squat challenge really convinced me to switch up my routine from heavy weight, low reps to lighter weight, high reps. My legs are burning like crazy lol, 5 sets of 20 rep squats, on top of high rep leg press, cleans, and leg extensions. feels good man
I dunno wtf happened this past week or two but my back and core has seemingly exploded in both aesthetics and strength... Pull-ups got much easier and I can do toe-to-bars and windshield wipers now, just starting late last week.
Besides breaking 300 as a PR in 1RM in deadlifts last week right after a weekend of partying (previously 295 so relatively not a huge increase), I hadn't been watching my diet much, went out an evening or two more than usual, and caught a slight nose/upper chest infection. I did still manage to lift 4 days last week with a day of running and plyo thrown in. Weird how things work. Perhaps I just took in more calories than usual, despite not exactly being 'clean' calories.

Had a sick shoulder workout today. Haven't had a good shoulder day in a long time
-Military press, did 105lbsx5 for 5 sets (plus a warmup set at 85lbs) My old PR was 145x2, so I'm slowly climbing back up there.
-Power shrugs @ 225x12 for 3 sets, and 285x5 for 2 sets. (first time doing 'em in a long time. Next week I'm gonna push hard)
-Deadlifted, lower back was a bit weak from squats yday, so I pulled relatively low weights, 225x8 for 1 set, and 225x5 for 4 sets, 295 for 4 for 2 sets, 135x15 at the end for a pump. I know, way too many reps ... but I love Deadlifting.
-Standing rows, high rep medium weight (I think around 95 lbs, could be wrong, assuming the EZ curl bar weighs 30 lbs) 12 reps for 4 sets.
-High rep cable raises and across body cables
-hammercurl style front raises with dumbbells (10-12 reps, medium weight)
-Rear shoulder flies.
Ahhhh. This is a shoulder orgasm.
I used to think power shrugs were the gay until I tried them, epic pump
