Seeing that this is a bodybuilding/workout thread, I'll ignore the fact that this is embarassing, but have any of you gotten any hemorrhoids from working out?

Literally a pain in the ass, and I hear people should stay away from lifting heavy weights during the time they have it.

And this is why I avoid commercial gyms. Training to failure has some applications for bodybuilding not so much for athletes. Understand your CNS when you train.

On another note, just came back from 2 weeks training in Montreal with Pierre Roy at the
Club d'haltérophilie de Montréal Centre sportif Claude-Robillard. For all you MMA/ triangle choke fans, he was the dude that helped GSP in the Hardy fight. Can't believe they can train 11 sessions a week. Platforms, bumpers and squat stands make up most of the gym.

Shows that you don't need much to be an olympic caliber athlete. Also checked out a few gyms in Ottawa. Unbelievable how far ahead they are. The gym I went to had 8 new platforms, reverse hyper, glute ham raise and rows of power racks that were competition spec. (PL).

And while you're in Montreal, make sure to have a post workout meal at Schwartz deli and a poutine at La Banquise:

I learned so much from everyone and encourage all you guys to make the effort and train with people that have been through the trenches rather (regardless of location) than a high post count. Well worth the trip. Met a lot of good people.

Next month, I'm planning to train with Louie Simmons at Westside.

Fuck, went all out on my pecs at the start and felt like shit the rest of the workout. Think I didn't wait long enough after eating dinner or something. Or could be the 4 slices of pizza I had for lunch at work lol.

Tomorrow is arm day, gotta make up for it.

SAS sounds like a gym hipster and someone I would not wanna workout with. Just like those guys who take a 9 week training course and get a PT ticket.

Partially kidding though. But I think the whole working till failure works for most here because we do it for aesthetics over power.

Have you tried floor presses, board presses? The JM press did wonders for me as well.

Weightlifting and Powerlifting. My background was in boxing however, not really correlated in any way. My first love is Weightlifting though, since its an olympic sport and I am trying to qualify for the next commonwealth games. Right now, I'm competing in PL. I made a promise to my coach that I'd reach nationals. The bench press is holding me back- since I never really benched before.

At the moment, I'm concentrating on PL. Fuckin around with the 5-3-1 Wendler program but I prefer the conjugate method. If I can total 1152 by the Western Canadian's, i'll be happy.

One day, I will try BB. Just don't have enough discipline when it comes to diet.

i wish i had access to a glute ham raise and lifting platform with bumper plates. i have to use a barbell and a bosu ball for glute ham raises.

Book an appointment man and fly out! It's not an open gym but if you are Powerlifter or looking to compete, Louie is quite humble and helpful.

That's a great idea with the bosu ball. Gna have to try that. I'll try that with one of my atlas stones.

Where did you go in Ottawa? I lived there for about a year and never really inquired for a "specialty" gym. I got sucked into the "Goodlife" way.

I don't think it was a 'specialty gym'. Just a lot of athletes went there since they had the best equipment. Mostly powerlifters, and football players when I was there.

It was the 'Y' in Nepean. Never heard of Goodlife until I went to the east coast but someone told me they're here now.

i might head out to toronto for the cutler seminar and might extend a few more days if its worth going out there
