Neutral grip is the grip you use to jerk off or the grip when you are picking up dumbbells.

So for example if you use neutral grip of dumb bell shoulder press,
the dumb bells would be parallel with your head?
Not sure if that makes sense

even tho i am a gym guru, i would never get something like that in my house, something about going to the gym and the atmosphere that makes me wonna go and being around everyone just would never feel the same at home, even if i had golds gym at my house i would still go to a public gym, who you gonna show off to haha, altho i would make a mirror room and workout with no shirt that would be ill

When I build a house I will FOR SURE have a reasonable home gym. Theres just some days where I dont have time to drive to the gym and get a workout. When you only have half an hour and want to rip out a few sets of something. Or the odd time on an off day I want to hit something but its not worth the trip to the gym.

im considering taking it just because i could sell it if i didnt like it, but was just hoping someone had heard about it before, im not paticularly fond of using the weights at the gym because alot of goofs at my gym, not like im weak or anything just dont want to work out beside goof's loaded up with rhinestones

edit* hmm by the looks of it, this is actually a fairly high end unit and considered better than the best bow flex available, every review praises it as a high end machine

ie. "The best home gym per reviews by workout experts was the Hoist V5 ($3000+) with a lat pulldown bar, chest press, a chest high cable for core conditioning, dumbbell exercises, leg curl and leg press. The weight stack included is 200 lbs. and it comes with a lifetime warranty. This is the top end model, so perhaps a less expensive brand is for you. Keep reading to find out more. "

fuck might as well grab it for free lol

I have never tried one of these machines personally, but I just dont see this as a proper replacement for a real gym with free weights and douchebags.

Reminds me of when my buddy bought some 2000 or whatever ridiculous price for a bowflex and stuck it in his basement. He was way better off buying a power rack and a bench.

^bingo. when i say id put in a home gym, i mean a power rack, bench, and a single pully system off the side of the power rack for cable rows and pulldowns. i saw a real nice setup online, cant remember who made it now tho. real industrial and simple looking but beefy as hell and quite affordable. actually wouldnt take up much room either. hell, if you could weld you could almost build yourself a home gym pretty easily. and buy plates from craigslist.

a good barbell and
6x 45
2x 25
4x 10
4x 5
2x 2.5
would be a good start

hell, after you get over the initial "hahaha wood" and take a good look at this, there is absolutely no reason a wood rack built from 2x6's wouldnt hold up real well

doubled 2x6 risers. basically a 4x6. considering a house is built on 2x4s...

ceiling tie in

you could build that for $150

I'm no engineer, but that doesn't look too sturdy

EDIT: nm it's attached to the ceiling? That should keep it in place

Note also the cheap barbell which belongs to the gray 10 pound weights shown on the floor. Cool concept, however I wouldnt feel safe squatting 315 from a wooden rack.
