Again, food is food. There's no reason to pick steel cut oats over flour, or anything in between. An uneducated theory might be that the steel cut oats are thicker and therefore "slower to digest" but this isn't the case, at least not in any meaningful way.
Breakdown starts with chewing, and carbohydrates break down immediately from there, The steel cut oats are broken into simple sugars pretty much right away. So whether you are chugging down huge chunks of oats, or choking down grainy oat powder, the end result is the same - a big dose of sugar in your gut.
So I screwed up and we lost a whole day's worth of posts. I'll see if I can recover them for at least this thread.
Some of the posts I made were about a rough workout due to needing to tweak my carb intake on low carb days, and updating my progress as I am up to 212 lbs today despite being leaner than ever (not that I am by any means lean)
Went skiing for the first time in a few yrs. Last time I wasn't working out at all. I could tell I had way more upper, lower, and core strength. Groomed black diamond was no problem. Feelsgoodman Posted via RS Mobile
