Yeah good point. You want to set a new pr but you don't want to actually fail on your last rep. If you're not feeling it that day you can even just do the min reps.

Now I don't have to feel guilty after having a couple McDoubles now and then.

That Mio water flavouring is tasty.

Damn gym closed on the holiday. Ate all afternoon at my house warming and will lift heavy tonight.

On a side note, standing bb press/military press/ohp is my favorite excercise in the gym.

Ya, but:

Quote:
Fasting serum-insulin levels increased in the fast-food group compared with the extra-protein group (p = 0.03). ApoB increased from 0.691 ± 0.14 g/L to 0.768 ± 0.17 g/L, p = 0.004, in the fast-food group only.
However, I can't remember my university stats to tell whether those p values are statistically significant.

From 0.69 to 0.76 after eating fast food every day isn't too much to get excited about. imo. If they left out the fries and drank diet soda, the fast food group probably would have had improved blood profiles

since we are on the topic of protein...

would you guys recommend the Costco whey isolate, i thinks it's called Kamine or something like that. Or is the one in the states better, Cytosport, but it's both isolate and concentrate blend.
my focus is on losing body fat and gaining a little bit lean body mass (or not lose any).

If I remember correctly, the Cytosport works out to be a better protein/$ ratio. They both taste pretty good, go with whatever you like or can get more conveniently. Just don't get the Weber concentrate from Canadian Costco, tastes horrible. Anyway, don't worry about the small stuff, at the end of the day which protein powder you choose really doesn't matter.

you shouldn't rely on protein powders to help you lose fat and build muscle

a supplement is a supplement, food is food

well you can in a sense, just take the protein amount in grams divide by the amount in grams of 1 serving and boom you know your protein concentration. ideal for a protein whey supplement should be 70-80, and i have seen some cytosport wheys out there being close to 50-60.

but if you're talking about other nutrient portions, then yeah itll be harder to determine

i'd say to go for the higher protein concentration and lower carb concentration.

this is assuming your diet is intact... if it's not, none of this will matter for shit

I'd rather do some dumbbells and kettle bells with an adjustable bench but that's getting pricey. OR would it be better to get something like this or some other "fly" type machine?

My first thought was squart rack, but squats and deads are one of those beast mode exercises I have to do at the gym. The home gym is more for exercises I was too tired to do at the gym.

Also getting a set of gymnast rings for pullups, dips, muscle ups, pushups,

It all depends on your goals bro... But imo everyone should have some sort of resistance training in their workouts. If you're already working out at the gym with squats, deadlifts, bench, then you won't need to do much else because those would be your primary lifts. I think a set of freeweights is most practical and useable for almost all exercises out there. And depending on your level, a gymnast ring might be too advanced to start off with.

i'm sort of confused though. Is it your gym? Or is it a gym in your complex that you share with others? If its yours, you must be one heck of a ballin guy. If its not yours, why the fuck would you have to spend your own money to buy equipment for a gym you share with others?
