Pets across borders

What are the rules for taking pets across the border temporarily. Can it even be done? Looking into adopting a pup next spring and am hoping I can take it on trips into the US as I am down there a couple times a year. Would rather have it with me than in a kennel!

Yes you can travel with your pet into the U.S! I have traveled with my dog before with no issues.

Only thing that you need to make sure that you have if your dog is older then 3 month's old is your rabies certificate. I have never been asked for it but its always good to have with your pet.

I also find it easier to go through if your dog is in a kennel while traveling, that way they are contained and not distracting the guard.

We dont really care about paperwork when its concerning pets travelling between canada and the us. Pets from abroad are treated differently and we'll verify all paper work before processing them through. Its best to travel with rabies certificate just in case your asked for it.
