Hobbit Trailer

They just released the trailer tonight online.

LOTR is my fav. movie of all time, so I am pretty stoked :D

SkinnyPupp 12-20-2011 07:55 PM

NEXT December? Why do they have to torture us like that?

TjAlmeida 12-20-2011 08:23 PM

I want to thank you for the trailer but I'm on my phone -_-

Sucks we have to wait an entire year, but I hope it is worth it.

Being the total LOTR nerd I am, I watched all the extras on the dvds and I really hope Peter Jackson is putting the same effort in to The Hobbit.

Its funny...I don't watch a lot of movies, especially those like LOTR (never seen Star Wars, Star Trek, Indiana Jones, Terminators, Batmans, etc....really any fantasy or drama and/or action) so I have never been so excited for a movie release!

:sweetjesus:

LOTR is my favorite movie of all time too... sooooo excited for this movie :haha:

happy that its made in to two parts .. spread out the fun :D

timbit 12-21-2011 04:57 AM

I've read LOTR but I haven't gotten around to reading The Hobbit for some reason.

StylinRed 12-21-2011 11:53 AM

looks a little.... silly

with all the issues of getting off into production i hope it makes its december 2012 deadline ;)

jmvdesign 12-23-2011 08:42 AM

Is this just a one off prequel?

StylinRed 12-23-2011 12:03 PM

Thread resurrection.

So what's with all the new fangled 3D enhancement talk about this movie? being shot at a higher frame rate..almost resembling daytime 'soap opera' pic quality? similar to some flatpanels that have 'trumotion'?
apparently it is disappointing alot of fans.

A hobbled Hobbit suffers sneak peak at CinemaCon

That was concerned me about filing in 48fps, seemed like it would cause 120hz-like effect which will make everything seem hyper-real sorta like a documentary. I'll have to see it myself to judge though.

skyxx 04-25-2012 03:03 PM

Hobbit will be shit. 24/25FPS FTW......

Lomac 04-25-2012 03:42 PM

I can totally understand the desire for a higher frame rate for 3D movies. However, I despise the Trumotion effect on new TV's and I avoid 3D movies as often as possible.

While people "prefer" 24fps, there's absolutely nothing wrong with 30fps. From a technical point of view, I can tell you that editors generally still hate editing with 24fps footage.

StylinRed 04-25-2012 09:14 PM

h8 the soap opera look

Harold & Kumar 3d looked really bad imo probably due to the camera they used though but still it had that same look too

Ohh langley will be showing it in 48fps? awesome was interested in seeing how Jackson gets around the soap-opera-look if at all

CA_FTW 11-09-2012 10:42 AM

but decided whatever.. Mabe it will Blow my Mind.

bugohoss 11-09-2012 07:44 PM

CA_FTW 12-12-2012 12:19 PM

european 12-12-2012 12:20 PM

Looks pretty sweet!

Presto 12-13-2012 02:09 PM

Hobbit begins showing tonight at 10:00PM! All the reserved seating for IMAX and AVX has sold out.

It's been rated Fresh on RottenTomatoes with 69%. The primary critic complaint is that it looks video gamey at 48fps, and the battle scenes lack tension. There's also a lot of filler, since the Hobbit was only 1 novel that is being made into 3 movies. Since I can't see it tonight, I'll be interested to see how RS reviews this movie.

StylinRed 12-13-2012 02:36 PM

3 movies? i thought it was just going to be 2?

lol :fuckthatshit:

gars 12-13-2012 03:36 PM

i have tickets for the 10:30 showing tomorrow. I'm trying to lower my expectations as much as possible before seeing it.
