So apparently Boss is closing down after tonight, from what I heard, yesterday the whole club was filled with LB and LGs cause all the promoters told their frends to come. Funny thing was, some ppl couldn't even get in and this was my face after hearing this:

Envy is moving its gay-ass parties to pop-opera starting next week so ppl who dunt want to be a high-skool dance, avoid it at all cost !

You seem to be quite against this club and the people who go there.

Did you have a bad experience ?

You seem to not agree with the above comments.

Are you one of those promoters?

For me, i don't have a problem with ppl going there. I just can't stand the way those promoters hype up their events and saying every week "get there early, guaranteed a gong-show" or "get there early or else you won't get in". This is what grinds my gears and i have already stated this in the VLS thread.

I don't have a problem with the club but i just don't like the ppl who run it. Its really a shame to the vancouver nightlife (17-20 year olds being club promoters acting all boss, really?)

heh those guys make $3-4 per ticket they sell. i know fusion entertainment pay promoters as low as $2-3 per ticket ($2 for 20 tick, $3 for $25 etc). promoters are pretty much tools. they have to meet people at the location the buyer wants to meet. so much trouble and time wasted for $2-3 profit -__-
promoters can act as cool as they want while i just laugh at them

1320 Richards has always been a shit hole.

Back in the day when I started going there, it was called Mars, and always had E.I gangsters getting into fights with several stabbings/shootings (circa 1996).

Then around the time I went to UBC, it was sold and turned into Wett Bar, where I promoted some parties, and once a huge fight broke out at the door, and idiot Asian gangsters fired shots at the door after being disallowed entry.

Then it became Atlantis when I left Vancouver, and my buddy got stabbed to death outside.

I'm not surprised it still attracts the same shitty environment. Frankly I think the music being played factors in quite a great deal -- you have idiots with no career/life aspirations who act hard or deal because that's all they know, and then you play the thug music and add alcohol. Result isn't a big surprise.

where does fusion promoters promote? from what i heard, promoters for these asian clubs makes $5 profit from a $20 ticket (not sure how true this is)? most of these guys just meet the buyer during the line-up to get in to save them the hassle of meeting up on their own time.

Fusion is a rave entertainment group.

Really? I thought promoters have to hand in their tickets 1-2 days before the event that's why tickets at the door are 5-10$ more (so they can make more money obviously) . If every promoter did that I don't really think there's a point of promoting when everyone can just buy tickets at the door. The higher ups can sell tickets at the door for a even lower price because they don't have to pay promoters if that's the case.

but they probably fronted their own money just for a bit more profit... I've seen people who sell early birds at the door just for profit

i'm surprised none of the douchebag bouncers there never got jumped or beat up. Were there any fights between ppl and bouncers that you have witnessed there?

Your friend was A Chan right? sad news..

isnt the new Boss "pop opera"? Gay ass envy had a grand opening last friday there and tried to hype up the event by parking "sponsored" Ferraris in front of the club so by-passers may think it is some big business going on inside
