Looking for something like this?

I have this bag, I use it everyday to carry school books and my laptop.
Diesel bags are generally around $100-$300 (real leather ones are more expensive)

Looks plain and simple, and anything dirty on it gets cleaned off easily.

Planning on buying this bag if I can find it:

Personally, I like to stay away from messenger bags simply because it promotes back pain and uneven weight distribution on the vertebral column. But if you do decide to get a messenger bag, I would suggest the chrome citizens messenger bag because of its stability, and its storage capacity. There's a reason why most people bike with this bag.

Danier : accessories : men : casual bags : |leather accessories men casual bags 254010016|

Been rockin' this one for school. Holds a fair bit, including my beefy laptop, and it's pretty comfy. 2 pockets on the outside, 1 zippered on the inside and on the back there a full sized one for quick paper/notebook storage. Girls compliment it; I like it.

Well if you're just using it for things that weigh less than 1 lb I think you can basically rule out most of the options given here because there wouldn't be as much of a need to carry such bulky messenger bags when you could carry a small sling bag. I'd recommend the lacoste one. I use it myself, and so far its been faring well.

Condor brand is awesome if you want to go tactical. Very durable. Comes in black or camouflage. I use this brand for traveling, gf thinks its ugly but I think they are fucking cool.

messenger bag

All of their stuff is modular, so you can add on additional pouches.

I have a messenger bag, if you're planning on using it for a laptop then I strongly suggest you reconsider and go with a back pack that distributes the weight evenly across your back. Walking around with 15lbs hanging off one shoulder is uncomfortable an awkward.

Looks like a pouch you'd take on a safari.

I have an Ogio messenger that I use for laptop and stuff. Just a skate/snowboard bag company just like Dakine.

I have a little G-star sidebag too, but I feel like such a fuckin tool everytime I carry it. I only let myself use it if I absolutely MUST (passport, camera, whatever.)

The whole point of messenger bags are so that you can open them and take items out quickly without removing the pack, hence their use among bike couriers and messengers. Nowadays, a "proper" messenger bag is designed to be worn high on the back while cycling so the pressure is spread across the back instead on one shoulder.

A good messenger bag will utilize snap closures or velcro for easy access. Most of the bags listed in this thread are shoulder bags, but not messenger bags, with belt buckle-style closures.

If you still want a messenger bag and not JUST a shoulder bag, popular companies are: Chrome, Mission Workshop, and timbuk2. It is worth noting that Mission Workshop and timbuk2 each have a lifetime warranty.

^ Can't really go wrong for $16

I'm kinda digging the old school rugged look of these Hasso products. Has anyone checked these out before?

Hasso — Welcome

I have a Mission Workshop backpack and I can vouch for the quality. Waterproof and they look pretty good.
